I had a great trip to Sapa with my friend in Tavan Family Homestay. Super friendly and helpful staff, the ower also very kind to us. She recommended many sightseeing and eating places. Amazing view from the homestay by the way. You feel absolutely relaxing when staying here. Highly recommend! Thumbs up!

Taking safety measures
We stayed there as part of our trekking package (which said Giay Family Homestay but ended up being Ta Van Family Homestay) and paid extra for a separate room, the room we got had NO WINDOW and was VERY SMALL, we asked to change the room as I suffer from claustrophobia, we had to pay extra again, the owner knowing I have claustrophobia would not offer better room for free. The new room hasn't been cleaned yet so a cleaning lady "cleaned the room", when I came in I found out she even DIDN'T CHANGE the BED sheets after the previous guests. As it was New Year for them there was no staff so I changed the bed sheets myself together with help of our trekking guide who was amazing. This facility needs some serious deep cleaning. I get the impression that the guest experience doesn't matter to them, only the money we bring them.

When you booked a tour at an agency, we received your order in a superior room, when you went to the homestay, you requested a deluxe room, so we would had to charge more. Giay Family homestay is the second name of our homestay, meaning homestay is made by the Giay people and follows the Giay architecture. We also apologize for any inconvenience in your room. We stayed one night in the homestay. The host warmly welcomed us and invited us to have a new year’s dinner with her family. It was very nice!
The rooms were clean. The homestay is located in the rice fields close to Sapa. The landscape is stunning.

Thu is the best host ever. We felt like at home with her. We prepared dinner together, which was delicious. In the evening we went to the Spa (DAO Spa) together and we enjoyed the herbal bath and a foot massage. It’s close to the home stay and quite cheap! Thu is a very friendly girl and we really recommend that homestay. (We were afraid that it’s gonna be very cold, but they have a lot of blankets which you can use :) and there is also warm water!!!)

The homestay was very clean and the foot was also good and traditional. At night it was cold but i didn’t freeze. I can’t report anything bad about this homestay
