We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 6 and 10, and we had such an amazing time during our 5 day stay at the villa. We were greeted by Rima and Richard at the property upon arrival, with fresh coconuts and yummy island fruits. The house is clean, tastefully decorated, with all the amenities you would need. The colors in the lagoon of Aitutaki are so unforgettable, and you are only a few steps away from immersing yourselves in it. The best part of our stay is the people we met. We got to visit Richard at the hatchery, saw the beautiful clams and learned about the ecosystem in the lagoon. It was so wonderful to hang out with Rima in the kitchen and learned how to prepare bread fruits the Cook Islands way on top of all the goodies she brought us. We also got to meet Richard's sister visiting next door who was giving us tons of fruits and veggies. We are so lucky to have experienced the generous spirit of Aitutaki. Rima even came to the airport to send us off with fresh beautiful leis she made! Aitutaki has a very special place in our hearts, and we will be back to visit for sure!

From the day we arrived until we left each day was perfect. Rema and Barbara were both unbelievably accommodating and helpful in making this a holiday none of my family or I will ever forget. Accommodation was very comfortable and modern, spotlessly clean and inviting with a welcoming bowl of local island fruit and ice cold coconut drinks upon our arrival. A one minute walk from the villa to the clear warm waters of the lagoon makes this one of the most perfect holiday venues of the whole island. We have already for next year.

We loved our 6 night stay at Ootu Villa. The views over the lagoon are absolutely beautiful and great for swimming and paddle boarding. The villa is essentially beachfront with just a small sandy/dirt road in-between, which is not used that often. Although the whole island is beautiful, I thought this location was nicer than the other side of the island and better for swimming. There is a restaurant (Samades) and cafe (Koru) nearby which were the best places we ate on our trip. Samades is just across the road and hires kayaks and paddle boards.
The house is modern, spacious, nicely decorated, and has nice touches (flowers, coconuts and fruit on arrival etc). It has a large deck overlooking the beautiful lagoon with a table and chairs and two loungers. My only very small complaint is that the couches in the lounge are vinyl so we stuck to them in the heat and had to put sarongs or towels down first.
We ate out so did not use the kitchen facilities, but they seemed very good. Just be aware that food is expensive. Next time we would bring some snacks/drinks from home.
Overall I was very happy we chose to stay here and hope to stay again.

3rd stay at this villa in 3 years, which says it all really! It's a perfect place to stay for anything from a couple to a family. Perfectly positioned right on the best beach on the island, didn't want to leave and will definitely be back again next year.
