This is your everyday average run of the mill hotel, cheap and quick fix for getting in and out of town. Although the room was clean the bathroom had a funky smell, it wasnt terrible or anything like that, just funky thats all but hey whose hanging out in the bathroom right. Not sure about elevator cuz i was on 2nd flr. Rooms were ok beds a lil stiff, tv was ok, fan worked ok. NO a/c. Windows only opened up to hall way of hotel to get a breeze. WIFI works great in the rooms though. Would definitely stay again IF I had to but now I know of other places so probably not, only saying I know of place with a/c down the street for $10 more. But if your looking for absolute dirt cheap and halfway decent place to stay maybe for the night cuz of early flight or bus departure than this is it. I thought the area is safe, couple lil cafes right next door and stuff. right off of calle 20, the police dept is 1 block away from the hotel. I walked from hotel all the way to central park by myself. I didnt think it was dangerous, just keep your wits dont be staring at phone, travel, walk and carry yourself like a seasoned vet. remember people are just people.

There was constant noise and the bed was rock hard! Also, they hired rooms out by the hour- you can derive your own conclusions from that statement!
Near to all the various bus stations.
About 10 min walk to the centre of town.

Rooms were prison cell like. Neighbourhood was sketchy at night. Staff was uninterested and inattentive. Bathroom smelled. THe hotel also charged by the hour....now there are a lot of bus terminals in the vicinity so I can't be sure if the hourly rates were to accommodate people on layovers or for more prostitute leaning reasons. I did notice a few hotels in the neighbourhood did this. Wouldn't put down here for more than a night.

The Quinta avenida Hotel is a Basic No thrills budget lodging. If you dont need much more than a bed to sleep for the night and a place to shower this hotel might work for you. My room just had a bed with a very thin mattress and a ceiling fan. The shower had hot water but with very little pressure. The room was quite dusty. I found the staff neither friendly or unfriendly. Simply put they were not very interested in customer needs or concerns and pretty much did the minimum required of them. I made my reservation via the internet and had no idea of the location of the hotel. Its pretty much a dead zone with very little going on. Even finding a place to eat was kind of hard without walking a couple of block and the fact the area did not seem the least bit inviting did not help. The staff spoke very little english so they werent much help.
On the plus side the hotel was quite affordable and only a block away from the Nicabus stop if youre heading down to Nicaragua.
