Stayed here for just one night before starting tour of Costa Rica. Room was small but adequate for one night - shame we were on the ground floor as noise of those above walking on the wooden floor was really loud and intrusive.
Hotel generous with in room snacks free of charge and water. Hotel reception staff incredibly welcoming and friendly.
Would we stay there again? Possibly.

Room Tip: higher floor to reduce noise from above!

I am so glad that I stayed at this hotel after my 9 days trolling the beaches looking for leatherback turtles with Earthwatch. I was met at the door by a lovely hotel assistant holding a champagne glass of something sweet and exotic. My room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate. And every very interesting meal I ate was delicious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This little gem of a hotel was a pleasure to stay at. We booked 2 nights on our way to the Osa Peninsula. The room was clean, spacious, and welcoming. A lovely indoor/outdoor restaurant serves delicious meals and is a quaint setting for dinner. The mini fridge includes free snacks that we took on our day trips with us. We also enjoyed the double rooftop hot tubs at the end of a busy day.

Good hotel, quite close to main facilities. Bedrooms are comfortable and restaurant was good; the food was very good. Virtually all staff speak good English. Minibar is free for non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

We stayed at the Grano de Oro on the first and last night of our trip to Costa Rica and it was a great choice.

The hotel is beautifully appointed with a classic colonial feel. From the moment we arrived we had great service. The hotel had arranged our airport transfer and we were met by a lovely driver who gave us ideas and tips for our time in Costa Rica. Check in was quick and efficient with a welcome cold drink. Our room on the 1st night was small but well appointed. Coffee and tea facilities and a mini bar with complimentary items ( not alcoholic).

Breakfast in the courtyard restaurant was a delight with efficient service. On checkout we were not charged as the staff said we could pay the whole bill in our return visit.

When we returned 13 days later we arrived early but were still able to check in which was wonderful. We were given a free upgrade to a gorgeous room near the courtyard. Again the staff were lovely, we had unknowingly left a USB plug after our 1st visit and this was returned to us.

Breakfast again was great, I could sit in the beautiful courtyard for hours. We checked out but as we were on an evening flight we left our luggage and spent the afternoon in the city returning to collect our luggage and get our taxi to the airport, once again arranged by the hotel.

This hotel was a perfect start and end to our Costa Rica adventure and I can see why it is number 1 on Trip advisor.
