Description: Fuji Restaurant is one of the oldest Japanese Restaurants in San Jose Costa Rica. We are here to offer you `Traditional Japanese`. The head chef who is Japanese and who has more than 30 years of experience cordinate all the quality dishes. We are the only one Japanese restaurant in Costa Rica offers the traditional Japanese room, Tatami Rooms. Lastly,our Teppan is the best quality in Costa Rica.

I think this is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in San Jose. The sushi is excellent and the entrees have a true Japanese flavor and technique. Every time I go, there are always a couple tables with Japanese people. They also play Japanese pop music constantly, which adds to the feel. They also have Tepanyaki, although I've never ordered it.

The only weakness is the dessert, they only offer ice cream, vanilla, green tea, and chocolate. This really leaves you craving a true authentic Japanese dessert.

100% recommend.

Service is AAA.

Don't usually get Japanese food while visiting San Jose, but this time we tried the Hibachi Grill and had the mixed seafood. The Scallops were amazing. The shrimp was a little overcooked, but the fish was just right. My friends ordered Steak and chicken. The steak portion was small, but still very good. The chef wasn't as flashy and showy as most Hibachi chef's boot the food tasted great. The Sushi on the menu also looked good, though we didn't taste any. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the prices were very reasonable, in the $20 range.

The Fuji restaurant on the first floor Crowne Plaza is an authentic Japanese restaurant with a great ambiance and fantastic sushi. The presentation and freshness of the ingredients is great - I'd look no further in San Jose for Japanese cuisine.

Have been here several times trying to get myself to love this place but each and every time i leave disappointed w the food and cost. The chef seems to be the real deal and some of his dishes are well executed but some are just bland. Then sticker shock sets in and you leave feeling taken advantage of. If it were one of the best sushi meals I've had then i would have zero issues w this. But that is not the case. Hope they get their act together.

Stayed at hotel. Had two friends meet me for dinner on a Sunday night. Just one other table there and we were the only three at the open grill. Chef was nice and talented. That's about it.

Very expensive and for the price I expect a better ambiance. No music, staff had rolled in a TV and we're watching a local soccer (football) game. Not what I want to see while spending over $25 a plate for average food.

Don't waste your time here for a experience that would be much better in the states or somewhere else. These employees were obviously not into providing a fine dining experience, they were just killing time (and mine)!

The hotel is nice, so do not reflect this review on them. I just would not recommend this bad experience.
