Our stay was awful the room smelled so bad we couldn't stay in there so then we got upgraded to a room that had things crawling out of the shower like crabs spiders and various other insects I do not recommend it however there is an amazing restaurant that is just down the road from it not the Main Street with all the shops the the one that is right beside the hotel. There is a barbecue chef named Juan who is one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Hotel Aurora looked very promising on booking.com and their website. When we arrived we saw there was a special offer for walk-ins (so making a reservation meant we were paying $10 more per night for no particular reason), and that both hot water and AC cost extra. Hot water we didn't mind as it was so hot the cold option was refreshing, but our room only had a window giving onto an inner courtyard and a fan that in spite of doing its best could not cool the room enough to make it comfortable enough to sleep in. We're used to camping and low budget accommodation but this was beyond. The toilet smell was unfortunate and due to sewage water spilling out right by the common kitchen, too. Hammocks were comfortable though and the location (bang in the heart of Montezuma) was convenient. In other words, don't go there.

Room Tip: Try to get a window on the outside or a ground floor (with mini terrace)

Wow, dodged a bullet by not staying here. Saw them advertised on air BNB, but reviews said to book in person as it was cheaper. Got there, the front desk was rude not only to me, but two other customers in the lobby. They laughed in a young backpackers' face when he asked if they had dorms available. 'What, does this look like THAT kind of place?' They also refused to let me look in the room before I booked it.. Big red flag. Better places in town for the same price

Hotel Aurora has a great location in Montezuma and is just 100 meters away from the beach that also has good snorkeling. Restaurants, stores, the bus station, & waterfall entrance are all nearby too!

We spent three nights & visited Cabo Blanco as well, but you could easily spend more time to relax. There are a few room configurations with AC and hot water extra so you can customize your comfort level to match your budget.

We really like how each room had their own space to relax. Our choice of a junior suite included use of the hammocks in addition to the lounge outside our room cooled with a ceiling fan. They really thought of everything including our own fridge and coffee maker in the room.

There is also a kitchen on the first floor if you are staying for awhile, or just want to make your own food for a change. Keep an eye out for monkeys, lizards, & other wildlife that frequent the area.

We stayed here for 4 nights in Jan in a room with a/c (much needed after a day at the beach!)
Staff were friendly, kitchen area was moderately well equipped.
The room however was tiny, which with our massive rucksacks left us climbing over everything to get to the bathroom. We saw there were a number of larger rooms left empty during our entire stay so it seemed silly that we were given the smallest room there.
For the price I expected a little more but the a/c sold it to us.
