Todos excelente,
We enjoyed the view, food, night time tour of the jungle, pool.
But the service exceeded our expectations.
The shuttle to Manuel Antonio was free and very helpful. We would recommend Parador!

El Parador was an excellent place to stay. I returned after my 1st trip to Costa Rica in 2008. The staff is friendly, the grounds are beautiful, and the views are spectacular. We enjoyed the adult only pool which was never crowded. The included breakfast had many choices and was delicious. We appreciated the guitar player in the evenings, so nice to hear live music again.
Their Monkey trail on their property had remarkable lookouts and we saw monkeys in the treetops one day. Daily we saw the colorful scarlet macaws fly by and we even had a toucan perched outside of our deck! I highly recommend the Tropical rooms, we had a 4th floor room with an amazing view of the treetops and the bay. I hope to be fortunate enough for another stay at El Parador in the future. Thank you.

Room tip: Tropical rooms with a deck to bird watch are terrific

We loved this beautiful resort. The entire property is so lovely—we appreciated the architecture, gardens and statuary. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The gym is first-rate with everything you may need. We enjoyed the hiking trail on the property, where we were able to see Howler Monkeys.

We did not really like the tiny beach that is closest to the hotel. Instead we recommend the public beach, which is very large and you can rent chairs/umbrellas and have lunch.

They take COVID-19 very seriously with masks and special cleanings and other procedures. We felt very comfortable there.

Dear FamilyTravelersCO,

We love hearing you enjoyed our Spanish Parador décor, you can read a bit more about the history of much of the artwork and artifacts we have on display on our website, and the hotel´s history.
The property´s trails are amazing, were you able to experience the daytime and nighttime tours?
Biesanz Beach close to the hotel is also a public beach, and it is small and very different from the large public beach, we agree. The good is that there are choices! Did you visit the beaches inside the National Park?

Come and see us again very soon, the team at Parador Resort & Spa looks forward to it!

I visited El Parador one more time after my last visit few years ago. This time, it was a family trip. I have to say that I felt welcome since our arrival. The weather was spectacular and the check in experience was fast and easy. We rented the family room (located at the floor above the La Galería restaurant) and it was really nice and huge, with a nice classy touch (absolutely stunning ocean view). Our family loved the place and the mix of nature within the hotel infrastructure was what they loved the most (seeing the monkeys and the lapas so close was awesome!) The pools are nice but small, getting a little crowded sometimes (although you have to reserve your pool spot in advance to comply with the COVID protocol, which by the way the hotel complies with high standards, I always felt safe). The staff is always smiling and ready to help you. The convenience store has the minimum necessary stuff (some medicines, snacks, local clothing, etc) and its prices are acceptable. During our stay I rented the La Reina Isabel room, which is a private room (6 people) to celebrate my daughter's birthday but the room was closed. The guest service staff helped me greatly to reserve it and have it open just for us to not to miss the brithday ($100). The room is just absolutely beautiful and the Chef Rodrigo is definitely a rock star. We had a great time with great food and wine! Breakfasts are great, the dining menu is short but delicious (a little pricy too, but worth it). The checkout process was quick and easy as well and the staff are always willing to help you.
If I have to name two things that could be improved, is that the water in the pool is always warm (outside the heat was very humid and hot, so it'd be refreshing to cool it down somehow) and the pool bar drinks are overpriced, forcing you to look for beverages outside the hotel.

Dear Daniel W,

We love reading experiences like yours, thank you for the detailed comments, helpful for us and for future guests of the property. The personalized shout outs for the chef and the staff are important for us and motivate us to continually improve.
Special occasions are specialty, and we are honored you chose our venue to enjoy such a special celebration. The Reina Isabel Room is truly exclusive and unique, as are Chef Rodrigo´s creations.

We will certainly take your feedback into consideration, and look forward to hosting you again in the near future.

The amazing-
Views are beyond amazing! The place is super clean and manicured to perfection. We live a keto lifestyle and Rodrigo Salazar made sure we had plenty to eat! Every night he would come and start with “Hi family”, and take our order. He cooked everything with sugar, flour, starches etc and even made us fresh strawberry cheesecake ice cream!! He was beyond accommodating, kind and an overall nice guy. Thank you so much!

Pools are beautiful but the chlorine level is really high so make sure you wear googles.

Breakfast was ok.

Animals are plenty and boy are there a lot of them. I spent an hour watching Monkeys play outside of my room. We had the pleasure of seeing Valentina (sloth), beautiful birds and butterflies.

Our room was huge and beautiful! One of the best hotels we have been to. Friendly staff and practiced safety protocols.

The bad-

The dinner music was very slow, super depressing and made us so tired. Very talented person but not upbeat at all and we ate as fast as we could to leave.

Not hotel related but beware when driving down the street to the hotel, tons of cars park on the side to go to the beach and make it really hard to get to and leave the hotel.
