We were lucky enough to stay in the two-bedroom suite at El Encanto. This was our second stay in Cahuita but our first stay at El Encanto. Juanita welcomed us with a wide smile and she and the other El Encanto staff made sure we had everything we needed for an unforgettable stay. My husband got a sunburn during or stay, and Juanita appeared with fresh aloe vera to help with his burn.
The rooms were beautiful. Clean and welcoming - a king sized bed in the main bedroom that had doors that opened on to the veranda. The veranda had both a dining table and two couches - we enjoyed sitting on the veranda in the evening, listening to the howler monkeys, and Dollar, the resident parrot, pepper us with "Ole's".
Our pictures only begin to capture the beauty of the property. The location was a little bit out of town (close enough to easily walk), but blissfully quiet for relaxing. It was nice to come back from a day at the park and have time by the pools in the afternoon. The breakfast served at the property was also a delight. We enjoyed fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, and depending on the day, either eggs or pancakes.
Our days went too quickly. We didn't want to leave. Encanto, which means charmed in Spanish, certainly lived up to its name.More
