My wife an I stayed at the Fenix for 5 Days. Loved it. It is right on the water and within easy walking distance to downtown Samara. We would walk there every day for groceries or just to tour the entire beach. We used Roots Bakery to supply us with baked goods and to get an ice cream cone. The local produce markets supplied us with fresh produce.

Jay, the owner of Fenix, even cooked us a fish dinner. All we had to do was supply him with what was needed and he did a fantastic job. Jay, if you read this, thanks again!

Room tip: Room 6 is the only one air conditioned. It doesn't matter that much as things cool down in the evening. Fortunately, we got room 6.

What a perfect spot on a peaceful beach. We had a 6-day stay, and every day was as beautiful and sunny as the last. Jay, the owner, made our stay even more memorable by telling us about the best places to visit and his awesome hospitality. If he offers to grill you a fresh fish dinner, take him up on it - it was the best dinner we had!

A great hotel, right on the beach, with only 6 rooms. Walkable to town but remote enough to enjoy the quiet beach. I took the attached pictures standing in the same spot...view of the hotel and view of beach. Jay, the owner, is a wonderful host.

We had such a great time at Fenix. It was the highlight of our Costa Rica trip. Jay is an incredible host, so friendly, and gives lots of great recommendations. The hotel has a relaxed and intimate vibe with the best possible location. Miss it already!

This is, by far, the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to. The hotel has the most relaxed vibe, and Jay makes you feel like family from the moment you arrive. The rooms, pool, hammocks, beach - it’s all so peaceful. A sweet little town awaits just a quick beach walk away, where you’ll find great restaurants and cute little shops. Simply fabulous.
