“Absolutely wonderful”

We are a family of four, and this was our first experience with a vacation rental. Since my mom was joining us on the trip, we needed a bit more space than a hotel would provide, not only for sleeping arrangements but so she could make meals for the kids in the kitchen (we saved a lot of money by leaving the kids at the house with her when we went out to eat or adventuring). The pool was their favorite entertainment throughout the two weeks that we stayed; it's the perfect size to cool down and to entertain kids. Although the house is very close to the beach, restaurants, and grocery stores, the walls around the property provided nearly complete privacy. However, there is a hotel across the street that has live outdoor music on weekends that is quite loud from the upstairs bedrooms. That didn't bother us, but it might be something for you to consider. But there is also an outdoor ping pong table at that hotel that the kids were allowed to use.
One downside is that the "garage" fits only a very compact car, so our rental vehicle did not fit (we parked on the street). However, we did rent a dirt bike, which fit quite well.
As for sleeping arrangements, it does sleep five easily, but note that the fifth bed is a small twin that is stored under the bed in the master bedroom and only fits on the floor space in the master bedroom. So my husband and I used the second bedroom and had my mom and the kids sleep in the master. That's fine, other than the master has a very nice closet, whereas the second bedroom only has a dresser (a nice, big one, but I prefer to hang my clothes). Definitely not a big deal to us, and we knew this going into it, but something you might want to plan for.
One of the main reasons we chose Villa Blanca over others is because the owner, Monika, was great to deal with leading up to the stay and also during the stay- very professional, quick to reply to emails, and she even connected us with other lodging options when we were still undecided. She seems to know everyone in Samara and is respected, from our impressions "on the street". The people she has helping with the house were very, very helpful and responsive to all of our needs. She was very honest about internet access, and she was true to her word. My husband and I both worked remotely during part of our stay, so this was important to us. We only had minimal internet / Wi-Fi connectivity issues (upon arrival the modem was broken, and after wind storms power was out for a couple hours). The price of the rental provided us more than many hotels at the same price. We would definitely stay here again!

“Best place to stay in Samara”

Ok so we have not stayed at all the places in Samara, but I have a hard time thinking there is a better spot than this!
This is the second Christmas holiday that we have spent at Villa Blanca, after the first one we put a deposit down for the following year as we left. We actually had as much or more fun the second time than the first. Crazy Good!!
We have been traveling as a family (me, wife, 21 yr son, 19 yr son) for every Christmas and New Year for the last 10 years or so and this is the nicest place we have found.
Everyone is looking for different things in a holiday. We were looking for a great beach, a town with a nice vibe and lots to do, friendly people and somewhere safe. It was important to be within an easy walk to the beach and bars/restaurants . So from a location perspective Villa Blanca gets 5 stars, it is a easy stroll to the beach and all the action.
The house itself is well displayed in the photos. It has two nice size bedrooms upstairs and a full bath. The down stairs is an open concept area with a full kitchen sitting area with comfy sectional and TV (Wifi of course).
But the best feature of the house is that you can open the two large double doors which opens the house to the amazing covered porch and pool area. The beach is great but the pool area is a nice area to relax out of the sweltering sun and go for a splash.
During our stay we did come quite well acquainted with a family of howler monkeys that kept visiting us by the pool.
Monika does a wonderful job with this property and goes out of her way to make your vacation one to remember!

“Fantastic house!”
Reviewed 8 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed here with two kids under 10 for five days and loved it. The house is beautiful, private, comfortable and safe. It is literally just two blocks from the beach. There are two little grocery stores a block away. It was great to be able to cook. The pool is small but my boys loved it! Perfect to spend the morning at the beach, come home and they could swim while we made lunch, go back to the beach, then back to swim in the pool and make dinner. Big mango tree over the pool meant we could float and watch monkeys play and eat above us on two days! (including a mama and baby) I loved drinking my coffee on the patio in the morning. Samara is a wonderful beach, safe, calm, pretty. Everyone very friendly. We loved Samara and this house. The beach is a great one for kids.

“Helpful, Friendly Owner; Some Repairs Needed”
Reviewed 16 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Monika, the owner of La Villa Blanca, was really personable and helpful during our stay. The Wi-Fi was not working the afternoon that we checked in, but she came back the next morning and spent a lot of time getting it up and running again. The villa is well-equipped and spacious, and the location near the beach and restaurants is excellent. We felt very safe in the area. Considering the rental fee, we were surprised and disappointed by some of the minor repairs that needed to be done to the place. The BBQ grill was not working properly, so we didn't use it, plus two cupboard doors were hanging loose in the kitchen area. There was also a broken window pane in the patio door that was covered by cardboard. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, but Monika plans to replace the shower head, which may help. None of these really affected our stay too much, and we pointed them out to the owner who seemed concerned about addressing the repairs needed. We enjoyed the patio out by the pool, and we spotted a huge iguana hanging out there on the wall. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the villa, and we enjoyed getting to know Monika.

“Amazing property two seconds from heaven”

La Villa Blanca is a spectacular property at playa samara. The property is beautiful and the pool is really awesome after a long day at the beach. My wife and I loved the outside patio - the lounge chairs, grill and table make dining and chilling a treat. The house had modern appliances and is perfect for two couples (two bedrooms). There is a safe, AC, washer/dryer and everything is really well maintained. I stayed here for 5 days and by the end, wished I extended my stay another 5. I regularly rent houses all around the world and was pleased with the quality, price point and location of this gem.
