I had an absolutely wonderful stay for one night at the Lost Iguana Resort & Spa. My only regret is that I was not able to stay for longer. My room had an amazing view of Arenal, and a private balcony from which to watch it and enjoy the natural surroundings. The grounds of the hotel are exquisite and a delight to enjoy. The staff was superlative, particularly Jogebeth, at the reception area, who was flawless. This is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I will be back!

Room tip: The highest rooms have the best views. They require a walk up a steep incline, or staff will drive you, is that is preferable.

Was a very unique experience! The room was great and you are truly in the rainforest. The view of Arenal was awesome. The restaurant food was decent but everything else was awesome. They WhatsApp chat with you for all your concierge needs which was super helpful and made us feel safe and taken care of. Would def recommend.

The view from our room is a 5/5, however there are a few annoyances with the room and resort layout. The quick trail is VERY steep, walking around the resort is a hike in itself, and there were no offers of a shuttle service. Pricilla at check in was extremely nice, informative and welcoming. The bell boy was unenthusiastic, did not offer help, did not show us the room, and we seemed like a hinderance. Downstairs rooms in the luxury suites have outdoor showers which are nice, except they are in the parking lot. Also felt uncomfortable using the jacuzzi due to a window being next to the parking lot as well. Jacuzzi leaked water, and there was a leak in the bathroom coming from the upstairs bathroom. Food was good but nothing exceptional. Pool bar is awesome as the water is heated. Food service was great. Distance from La Fortuna is about 25-30 minutes, double from most of other resorts in the area.

VIEW FROM OUR ROOM WAS PHENOMENAL

Room tip: Downstairs luxury suites have outdoor showers.

We had a ground floor room which was spacious with a patio and incredible view of the volcano. The staff were incredible...if we called reception, we had what we needed within 5 minutes (more coffee, more towels, making a phone call, helping with a reservation, coordinating Covid testing). The food was consistently delicious as well. The afternoon we arrived, we saw coati around the grounds, toucans and beautiful birds...paradise in the forest. Highly recommend!

Room tip: 1st floor room with double beds had more than enough space for our family of 3

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Lost Iguana when we first arrived in Costa Rica. Our room was so big yet cozy. The shower was very unique! The hotel was very quiet, clean and tucked away from the road. The property is so lush with stunning bright flowers all over. The views of the volcano from our room were unlike anything we have ever seen, absolutely gorgeous! We had breakfast at the hotel daily, which was delicious. The staff was super friendly and everyone wore masks. We had some room service snacks there as well after we got back from our excursions. The hanging bridges is a ten minute drive, we also did an ATV tour of the area and the guides showed us to the Venado Caves, which we explored with another guide there. I highly recommend. We zip lined maybe a 20-25 minute drive from the hotel. The location is perfect, you can go to the hot springs, see the waterfall, do excursions, go to La Fortuna for dinner and come back to this beautiful peaceful resort. Also there is a trail on the resort which we explored before breakfast one day, it takes about an hour, absolutely gorgeous. The amount of hummingbirds at this hotel was insane, we loved sitting on our balcony with some fresh coffee and watching them.
