We ate there after having visited the Mistico Hanging Bridges Park. The food is maybe too fancy weird, but we were not a fan of the sauces on our 3 dishes. Too much sauce or not tasting too good. But that could be just us. The staff were nice. The best of all is that the restaurant is in the mountainous area (along side the road to LaFortuna from Hanging Bridges) and so animals come and get some free food scrapes from the restaurant. We saw neat birds and a coati. Pretty neat!

A black eye on an otherwise perfect trip to La Fortuna. We were looking for a more reasonably priced and authentic Tico restaurant from our hotel. Waiter was great with the kids - but a $215 bill for 8 people at a soda (with mediocre food quality) was ridiculous - and we didn't even have alcohol. After the large bill - we attempted to pay with Visa. First they claimed my card was rejected and later claimed their machine was broke. We weren't carrying large sums of cash (we had just finished a long hike). We sent a member of our party on a roughly 45 min round trip drive to get cash. After asking for a discount for our troubles (and lots of time) - we were rewarded with a $5 reduction and numerous unfriendly comments from the owners. No apologies were offered. Later we mentioned the restaurant to one of our rafting guides - and he claimed the place is known for high prices and low quality food. Recommend staying closer to La Fortuna for dining options - and definitely skipping this place.

Be sure to have a lot of cash on you. They are expensive for dinner and they did not want to take Visa. The claim was that their phone connection was bad and therefore credit cards did not work. We had to leave family behind and drive to the hotel to get cash to pay for dinner. We spoke with locals AFTER eating here and they laughed and agreed that they are over priced.

Lucky find along the way to Arenal national park. Great food that everyone in our party enjoyed. No one left hungry- best arroz con pollo yet! A visit by a Tucan and wild turkey were a plus.
