Our tour group spent a couple of nights here while exploring the area around Arenal. It is a basic motel-like lodging with a couple of two-story buildings around a central swimming pool. Our ground floor room for our family of three was small, with only a double and single bed. It was a bit worn-down, without a lot of amenities.
Breakfast was served next door at a separate restaurant, but it was a full-service restaurant, not a buffet, which meant getting there in time to order your meal along with 10 other groups from your tour was a bit tricky, especially when the orders are messed up. While the food was good, we spent 30 minutes both days ordering, waiting, and eating our food, and barely made our departure bus both times. Seems like for tours, a basic buffet would have been more efficient.
The grounds of the hotel are nice, with some trails leading down to the river that were good for spotting frogs (we found a bluejeans frog!), and up a tree we spotted a sloth one night. The hotel is a short walk to the central square and close to lots of shopping and restaurants.More
