Did not want to eat in our hotel so we asked the desk for a recommendation and this place was suggested. Just down the road maybe a half mile from the hotel. We drove as road was very dark but watch out for locals. place had beautiful views of San Jose, hence the name. Not a tourist place for sure, menus had English translations but wait people not at all fluent which was absolutely fine and frankly preferred. I speak Spanish proficiently enough and am always happy to practice! We ordered as usual too much: mixed seafood ceviche and fried plaintain ( kind of like tostones) as appetizers. Both were excellent. Then I had fish with a shrimp sauce and husband had meat with picante sauce. Both served with potatoes and vegetables. All delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection. Service was great. Not crowded but seemed as if local people were stopping in for a drink. Only tourists we saw was a group of about 5 Germans who had been brought to the place by their guide. Definitely recommend if you are staying in the area. We stayed at the Hotel Buena Vista and the restaurant is just down the street.
