Pros

1) Good Spacious Rooms, (especially the city view rooms)

2) Lobby is Great , ( with separate Bar for Soccer WC matches)

3) Staff is skilled and helpful ,

4) Good English Breakfast

5) They had a Brazilian Head Chef ,

6) last but not the least , !! THE LOCATION , ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWING , 1 MIN WALK FROM NANJING ROAD ,

7) It has 100% Non smoking rooms , (it may be dislike for many people , ) , but its really good for me ,

CONS :

1) The Restaurant is located at the Lobby , which is quite Weird , during Breakfast Lunch and dinner time , Lobby looked so much crowded , noisy , Etc ,

It should be located on any Floor but not at Lobby ,

Room Tip: Deluxe Room , with City View , Take Higher Floor , (10th to 14th)

Best luxury hotel on E. Nanjing Rd in Shanghai. Stayed 3 times here. Great buffet dinner, old style mahogany and marble all over, currency exchange machine in lobby. Staff was excellent and very helpful.

We spent 3 nights at the Grand Central Hotel Shanghai and have always felt very comfortable and safe. You can reach all known sights from this centrally located hotel on foot or by public transport.

special:
The hotel is very centrally located near Nanjing East Road Metro Station Line 2.
By the way, Line 2 connects both major airports of Shanghai. The fare is about $ 1. Spacious fitness room and nice, heated indoor pool.

Location:
Nanjing East Road Metro Station is a 5-minute walk away. The Bund Promenade is about 15 minutes. It is also about 15 minutes to People's Park.

Staff:
The check in was very fast. Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff.

Room:
The rooms are really great and are always kept clean. You hardly hear the traffic on the street. The bathroom is well decorated with both a bath and a shower. The Wi-Fi was sometimes disconnected.

Breakfast:
On the 1st floor at the lobby. There is a very pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast buffet is very varied, leaves nothing to be desired and tastes fine. You can let your own coffee on machine.

We can only recommend the Grand Central Hotel Shanghai; it will not disappoint.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are quieter

The Grand Central is a fabulous hotel in a perfect location to get about the surrounding are on foot.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights before setting sail on a cruise to Japan.
The views from our window were incredible and the room was spacious and luxurious as was the huge bathroom.
Although we did find the staff a bit on the stiff side, except for the young door men who were polite and very helpful.
I would recommend this hotel to any one planning a trip to Shanghai and I would certainly go back there the next time.

Stayed: April 2018
