I stayed here for 5 nights as friends were getting married at Plantation Island and, well, the fact that Lomani is child free was a winner. The resort is very nice and well maintained. All the staff were very friendly. We ate at the restaurant every day (no meal package) and thought it was reasonable value and the quality of the food was always very good. The beachfront to this resort is ok, but certainly by far not the best in Fiji. It is not your picture post card blue water with fantastic coral. It is tidal and somewhat shallow, so the water is always warm. In saying that, the resort offers open ocean snorkelling trips every day to a spot just off the break (about 10 mins by boat). The water is so blue and crystal clear you can see the coloured fish and coral below. It is magical. Definitely an 8 out of 10. The resort pool is also very nice. Because the resort itself is not big and there are no children, it is lovely and peaceful. We were in a beachfront bure which was very comfortable, although set back a bit too far from the beach (10-15 metres). The one negative we experienced when we stayed (in early September 2011) was the mosquitos. Aeroguard is provided free of charge in your room and in a basket at reception. You couldn't leave the room without it. I wasn't too bad, but it really annoyed my husband. The resort also provide bikes free of charge. We used these to explore the island, which was fun. This is a nice resort to stay for 3-5 nights exploring.

Room Tip: The beachfront bures were lovely and spacious. There is only one that is actually beachfront, the ot...

I wasn't sure if this was located on its own private island but when we arrived and jumped on the golf cart that brought us to the secluded resort for adults only - we knew we were in our own private hideaway. The staff greeted us with a beautiful welcome song - and not just some boring same ol same ol like Chevy's Happy Birthday - I mean this was an amazing and beautifully performed song - with heart. Our room was perfect - big king size bed and nice bathroom. Our patio was maybe 100 feet from the beach and looked out on the blue water and frangipani trees and lush green lawns. The Fijians are probably the nicest people ever. They work hard for not very much an hour but have big smiles and are very helpful and warm and kind. The singing goes on through dinner and the man who sings and plays guitar sounds like the lead singer from Blues Travelers and is AMAZING. We rode bikes around the island, went snorkeling and dined on the beach by candlelight. The food was good, order the special or just ask them what is good - they will tell you! When it came time to leave, each one of the staff that was working gave us a warm goodbye and then they all joined in song - from the older guy who was gardening to the younger kitchen help - all in unison like they have practiced for years. It was so beautiful I had to hold back the tears - and was so sad to leave that I promised myself if i ever went back to Fiji, I would have to visit Lomani again. BTW - "Bula" means Hello in Fiji.

Myself and my partner stayed at Lomani for 7 nights over the Christmas period. What a beautiful resort, loved the room (beach burre..definately stay in one of them). Great choice of tv shows/movies. The outside shower was great, beautiful gardens and the beach and the pool are amazing! So quiet and relaxing, the weather was great every day, we had the holiday we've been waiting for for soo long!!

Downside of the holiday: the food was very very average and they charge top $$$ for it. Christmas lunch was terrible, absolute joke!! For $89 we had the worse turkey ( just off cuts, a few pieces) , lumpy mashed potatoes and some broccoli. The dessert was average pudding drowened in not very nice custard. I would have not minded the food that much, I know that they are on an island and it's hard to get food, but I don't wanna be charged so much money for hospital food pretty much... Very repetitive. I would reccommend eating at Plantation, much cheaper and better. And Musket Cove, Dick's Place, great food and great cocktails, and way cheaper.

The cocktails, unless you don't like alcohol, don't have them, or watch them make the coctails and ask them to be more generous on the alcohol. Most of them don't drink alcohol, so they don't really know how to make them. And for $40 you want more then just lemonade!!

Apart from that, great place, great staff, great island!

Room Tip: Go with the beach burres, they are awesome!

Lomani is a wonderful place, the people are so friendly and helpful, the accommodation is 5 star and the food is top class. We went to Lomani to get married in November and we were nervous picking a place without seeing it. But we were instantly put at ease on arrival with breath taking views, gorgeous beaches and crystal clear water. Our families also stayed at the resort and we would meet up for dinner and breakfast, and even though it is a small resort we barely saw them for the rest of the time!
Lusi was so helpful in planning the wedding and answering any questions I had. We travelled to Nadi to get our licence and that is the only thing we need to do (in Fiji, we did also need a single certificate before leave Australia). It was very easy to get a licence, and then all we had to do was relax and pick a spot and time to get married. If you are travelling to Lomani to marry, I would advise looking into a photographer - we would highly recommend Zoom Fiji, they were great!
You can snorkel right out front of the resort, all the way down to Plantation. The water was very warm and the coral was very good given its location. You can take day trips to the Sandbar - which is a must do, the coral and sea life is amazing out there. All activities from the resort are included and you can charge anything from food to purchases at Plantation back to your room at Lomani.
We didn't get a meal plan, as we had dinner at the other resorts too.
We found this holiday very affordable, very relaxing and possibly the most relaxing wedding ever!
My husband and I will be back to Lomani for our anniversaries for sure!
Bula!

We had a fantastic 7 night honeymoon at Lomani Island Resort. It is definitely worth the 1 hour ferry ride from Denarau Port. This adults only resort is perfect for couples on a honeymoon. On arrival the staff welcomed us with a welcome song and also gave us fresh coconut juice.

The resort was very quiet and relaxing. The resort grounds were immaculate. The staff even rake the beach every morning to get rid of all the seaweed. It was the perfect getaway for us to de-stress after our wedding. We made use of the free activities - snorkelling, line fishing, dolphin safari, coconut demonstration, kayaking. We also hired the bicycles to explore the island.

Sunset dining and dining on the patio was the highlight of the trip. We chose to have the meal package which was excellent value for money. Considering Lomani is a small resort, there was enough variety on the menu. The food was above average. Portion size was generous. Breakfast was a full cooked breakfast and most lunches and dinners were a 3 course meal. The Wednesday evening Fijian dinner was a great experience. We also enjoyed the Kava ceremony and Song/Dance performance.

Service at the resort was great. The wait staff at the Restaurant were very attentive. The rooms even had daily complimentary laundry which was a nice bonus. Our stay also included a free facial at the day spa which was very nice.

We had the Deluxe Suite which was very spacious and had a view of the ocean from the balcony. The Deluxe Suites are in a block of 8 rooms. The rooms are designed well so you never really hear your neighbours. Rooms were clean. The rooms have a DVD player (DVDs can be hired from reception) but do not have cable/free to air TV. Some evenings we played games e.g. Scrabble.

Our only negative was the meal we ordered for room service on the first night. The food was below par. However later in the week, we ordered exactly the same dishes at the Restaurant and found it to be delicious.

On departure, the staff gather round and sing a farewell song which is a nice touch. Another bonus of staying in a small resort.

Just as we were leaving, we saw truck loads of schoolies (18 yr old kids) who had just arrived at the resort next door. Thank goodness we chose Lomani! Lomani is a very popular resort for Aussies and Kiwis.

Also remember to pack the insect repellent and sun cream!
