If so, you will also love Louisiana Lagniappe. The menu features an excellent selection of fish, crab, shrimp, scallops, and more prepared in the style that makes New Orleans cuisine a favorite. As with any fine dining restaurant on the Gulf Coast in summer, one of the challenges is finding the right combination of food and access when you need it. Most of the more popular restaurants are challenged to offer the correct balance. The San Roc Marina where this restaurant is located has a centrally located outdoor bar that can serve as an unofficial "waiting room", with local musicians playing in the courtyard a distinctive plus. They also offer call ahead seating that can minimize the wait, putting the staff and patrons in a good and relaxed frame of mind from the get go.
Our experience looked to be pretty typical...families and groups of friends enjoying a relaxed evening out. The central dining room is busy, and a bit noisy, but not distressingly so. Basically it mimics an urban dining experience in the hustle and bustle, and in the excellent organization of kitchen and service. Bottom line, be a bit patient, perhaps enjoy a cocktail, because the food is worth it!
I had the Grouper Meunière, served with the salad and potato that accompanies most all entrees. The consistency is what makes it great; if you love seafood, you will find types and preparation that you will appreciate. The ingredients are fresh and high quality... that's what makes the meal exceptional. Others in our party praised the stuffed shrimp, and the Yellow Fin tuna with hollandaise. Beyond the seafood, there's minimal steak and chicken... thus the heading above...this place is for the lover of fresh, well prepared seafood coming straight out of the Gulf right outside!
So, if you LOVE seafood and a fine dining experience, give Louisiana Lagniappe a try! It will become a regular destination when you visit Orange Beach.
