I stay 3 nights in this hotel last week. I got bitten by bed bug. Due to no choice I asked solution from receptionist. They willing to change room for me but to 2nd floor which I rejected. So the only alternative way is to change the bed sheet and this is seems the better idea than changing the room floor. After change it has no more bites. But to my suggestion, it has to be change bed sheet whenever the guest is checked out. Proper care of bed sheet is also important else even it is already changed the bed sheet, it will still get bitten.

Not bad for a 3 days 2 nights trip as a budget hotel. Clean and tidy. It's too small compare to what you see from the pictures. Not recommend to stay with family or a big group in this hotel. But however, it was nice.

So far so good. Just forget to request to have window's room during booking and request it during check-in time is not allow to do so. So, when daylight, you wont see it bcoz you're in the black box. The air-cond during midnight auto adjust tempature that cause the room too warm(27 degree). After an hour later, back to normal.

I am beginning to despair for this branch, now the bigger 'shop' has opened on the other side of undeveloped square! There used to be free daily delivery of selection of bread/cakes for breakfast(inexpensive gesture), but has now stopped!! I used to store my carton of fresh milk in the staff fridge to make tea/coffee after my day trips, but now the fridge has gone! The WiFi used to be reasonably 'OK', but now was almost at dial up speed! One used to be able communicate with the hotel via emails, but now that's out of the window, because no-one looks at its inbox, which I suspect no-one was capable of forming an English reply in the admin support! As for TV channels, I thought there used to some satellite channels plus the normal Malay channels, but now only there only the TVB channel and a grainy Singapore channel, you do feel cut off from the rest of the world if you don't understand Malay!! This branch has the feel of an abandoned sibling, to its newer bigger branch.

The only saving grace for this hotel was the cleanliness through out the hotel and the fully working AC, but with a noisy MCB unit. I was quite disappointed for my recent stay at this hotel, next time I will try the bigger branch again.

Room tip: Ask for a window room, or 1st floor room if you have large luggages.

The only good thing about this hotel was the staff. The Malaysian girl on the front desk was very friendly, as was the bald guy. Now let's talk about everything else.

Wi-Fi: The internet connection in this hotel is virtually non-existent. Our room was right next to the router but we couldn't get reception unless we stood right beside the door. Even then it didn't always work. It was completely unreliable. Sometimes (not very often, maybe once a day) it would be ok for ten minutes and then you couldn't connect at all. We asked the girl to reset it on the first day and she did, but it made no difference. My boyfriend wandered round the hotel with his phone to see if the reception was better elsewhere but alas. This is some of the worst Wi-Fi we've had, as bad as the connection in Myanmar.

Cleanliness: we often spotted bugs in the room (they looked like mini cockroaches). The room was only cleaned once during our stay, and we had to go and ask the staff to do this. As we were leaving I looked under the bed to make sure nothing had rolled under there and it was completely dusty, like it hadn't been cleaned for years. The same goes for the top of the wardrobe (which doubled up as a desk, lol): I threw a towel up there to keep it out of the way while we packed and a huge cloud of dust showered down on me. Bad if you have asthma! The corridor often stank of stale cigarettes and our room had a bit of a whiff about it too.

Noise: for some reason the door handles have an alarm, and if you hold them down for a second or two they start making a high pitched noise. Our neighbours liked to come home late, and the alarms would go off at 2am waking me up. People coming back late to a hotel can't be helped, but having noisy doors can. One day the alarm on our door handle just started going crazy and wouldn't stop. The handyman had to come upstairs and take our door apart.

The location was okay for us because we like walking and are used to the heat and humidity of Southeast Asia, but for other people it might be a bit far out. It's about half an hour's walk to the city centre.
