“Excellent little Hotel”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

We have been to Goa 3 times and stayed here twice. Most of the guests are repeat visitors and I was surprised to see so many welcoming faces from the previous year. The rooms are big enough would recommend paying for an air conditioned room. Bathrooms are more like wet rooms but again are more than adequate. The Hotel is clean. No restraunt on site any more, which is a shame as the Oriental was a really good place to eat. Breakfast for me was not really worth getting up for, tea, coffee n toast with jams. The toast was rock hard as they insisted on putting it through the toaster several times. However, you can pay for eggs, omelettes etc. My husband became addicted to ther e masala omelettes. What I like most about this Hotel is the location, many stalls, bars and restraunts nearby. Beach is about a 15 minute walk. We wanted to book to stay here again in 2013, but as only Thomas Cook do this Hotel and we couldnt book extra leg room seats at time of booking???? We have booked to stay in Candolim and are going with Thomas Cook, as you can book your seating requirements at time of booking, as I am not prepared to leave it to pot luck. But thats just me! On a 10.5 hour flight I want a bit of space. Overall I would highly recommend this Hotel.

Me and my OH stopped at this hotel from the 2nd March for 3 weeks. The hotel is a great base as it is located just off the roundabout. The hotel itself is basic but very clean. We found it accomadated all our needs.

There is a small bar area at the front of the hotel where you can sit and watch the world go by. The pool area is of average size and we found it quiet and not busy when we wanted to sunbathe and use the pool.

The room we stopped in was P12. Its located on the very top floor of the block of rooms overlooking the pool area. This room was much bigger than the rest of the block due to it being on its own and only sharing the rest of the top floor with what must have been a sort of staff quarters area. It also meant we got a much wider balcony area and were never overlooked. The bed was comfy and I never had a bad nights sleep on it. The bathroom area is all combined into a wet room. There is a small tv in the room with quite good films on it! There is air con in the room but you do have to pay for it. We only used it on the last week of our holiday as the humidity was unbearable at night. It costs 300rps a night to use.

Breakfast consisted of toast, juice and tea and coffee. The toast was edible but like most people have said on here who have been, you can order eggs in any form and even get a bit of sausage and bacon for under 60rps each.

The staff in the hotel are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I have tried to book this hotel again for next year in March but it seems it is getting a very popular choice with holiday makers, as I could only get one available date in March and they couldn't do 3 weeks only 2!

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and absolutely loved the place. Don't turn up expected the Ritz because you will be sadly dissapointed. It is a basic hotel but thats pretty much the standard in Goa, it is however clean and comfortable. It has a nice pool, the staff are fantastic and make your stay extra special.

The hotel is a brief 10min walk to Calangute beach or 20-30min strole to Baga beach. Both walks take in the local stalls and bars and are a great experiance.

Hello again.

We have recently come back from 2 weeks at the Mira Hotel 19.02.2012. We stayed at the Mira hotel 2 years ago. Even though we prefer Candolim we went back to Calangute as it is cheaper and the taxis are next to nothing. The comments that some people make about the Mira are false. In 2 years the Mira has not changed at all other than the restaurant closing this is the only thing that has changed. The noise remains the same, the people remain the same and so does the toast!

The rooms are cleaned daily, we even kepted our room on until 5 the day we were leaving and they even cleaned the room then, yes the colour of the towels and bedding is a little discoloured but i have been to a few hotels in Goa and it is the same.

The breakfast consists of just toast, tea, coffee and juice. If you dont mind hard toast then you will be fine. You can order other things and they are ok.

Santos is still a little wheeler dealer, making us laugh.

On the whole you get what you pay for. If you want clean rooms and dont mind the noise then the Mira is an ok hotel to go to. Keep one thing in mind this is a 3rd world country.

I have to make one other comment, if you go to Candolim beach visit the White horse shack. We have been to Goa 4 times and we always go to this shack, they cant do enough for you. Dilip who runs the shack is only young but is so friendly. Please go to this shack you wont be disappointed.
