Our family of five was here for a wedding at the State Park Lodge. Very nice grounds, great scenic views of mountains, valleys, and Lake Guntersville. There is a zip line with two levels, lake activities, and hiking. We found emus, donkey, and goats along with a small cave that we explored. The zip was fun, and we enjoyed the short hike to the cave that we explored. Camping and boat launches are available.
Why husband and I just drove in unexpectedly for an afternoon… The lodge is incredibly beautifully appointed with a restaurant, and beautiful views of the river. There’s a nice gift shop, there is a zip lining, they are beautiful cabins on the water, and there appeared to be some kind of a animal petting zoo because we saw an ostrich and a donkey on the way out. Lots to do for people of different ages on a beautiful setting.
Always beautiful, no matter what time of the year you go. We love to visit to see the wildlife. Love going to the lodge for the breathe taken views.
This is the second year we have taken our two grandsons (ages 9 & 5) and stayed in one of the camper cabins inside the campgrounds. The boys had a blast.
The camper cabin was clean and well maintained. And, Barbara was extremely helpful and very accommodating.
The park itself is one the most beautiful parks we have in Alabama.
We will definitely go back.
Thank you for your review. I will let Barbara know you enjoyed your stay. We love name dropping!
Spent 7 days in a camper cabin. Had a wonderful time. The camper was so clean. Hope to come back soon.
Thank you for giving your review here. The camper cabins are a nice addition to our campground.
This is our 2nd yr here. I would totally give it 5 stars except that people speed! Please patrol!! It makes me nervous for the safety of my kids riding their bikes and me walking my dogs. I’m betting some (most) are hitting 45mph as they go by our RV.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and making us aware. Are you talking about in the campground or the main road? We do have patrol on the road leading to the campground but if this is in a different location please call our office, and anytime you are here, at 256-571-5444.
