This place in Boa Viagem is a couple blocks from the beach and gets busy after 9PM. If you are an early eater, you will see the place deserted, but that is temporary. Keep in mind there is no AC, just fans. Brazilian restaurants are not as fond on AC as the US counterparts, so never take AC for granted when you go to a restaurants. It feels local, with a huge TV playing Brazilian DVDs, and beer choices are plentiful. Order “bolinhos de bacalhau” (deep fried cod fish treats) and I guarantee you will love them. Also, while in Recife have some fried cheese (“queijo coalho”) which doesn’t melt but just heats up wonderfully. The dishes are generous and may serve more than one person. If you order one individual plate per person, then you pay the price. If you share, the dishes are fairly priced. Service is attentive and very good. As usual, it is local practice to tip 10%, and it usually comes included in the bill (“serviço 10%”).
