Yes I should describe the place as it is the kingdom of the king "the Royal Bengal tiger".Go for it in winter preferably with some recognised and renowned tour operator. Follow rules and enjoy.

Visiting sundarban was in my bucketlist since i read 'Hungry Tide'. It was a sudden plan..and we were so lucky that we planned it with backpackers group. They picked us from science city. All the arrangements were great. they own a private island in the sundarban named satgelia and they have made an amazing eco village for staying there.I'm calling it amazing because of the creativities that is seen in every part of the property. Be it the sitting area using car seats and tyres,or the fluroscence sitting zone,or the star gazing area, the shell flooring in the bathrooms. They gave us some beautiful experiences like mud walking, night safary, village walk etc. Our guides,AJay and Arif know every titbits of the place. So if you really want to feel the real essence of sundarban..they are the best men to guide you. Kudos to the whole team.

This has been one of my best trips!! Sundarbans is very beautiful and these guys show it really well.

I loved the food we had. The boat rides on small boats were the best way to see the mangrove forest. And we also had a mud fight and mud slide which was super thrilling because it was in the night and in the middle of the forest.

Also our tour guide Manjit (MJ) was amazing. Very nice and humble guy and was so lucky to have him.

Our trip started at 8 Am .. we we were received by Arif bro .. offered tea ( 5 out of 5 for tea ) and sandwich.. we headed towards gosaba island by road .. On the way we stopped for breakfast and tea (again both were awesome) .. then we took ferry ride .. Tuk tuk ride and then it was time for Elmor ride and finally we were on Satjela Island (eco village )
There is something magical about Eco village... well built and maintained..

we got bengali food as lunch (taste was so good ... one of the Reasons I'm eco village)

then it was time for mangroves visit .. mud walk / mud slide (full of adventure)

we spent evening in swimming pool built in eco village.

At night .. there was cultural music program.. local singers were there.

and we were offered snacks in evening with tea.. and bengali dinner ( it was our choice what we wanted to eat)

next day was full of adventure with sunderban tour .. whole day on elmor and visiting watch towers ..

food was cooked and served on boat itself.

and night well spent in cottages in eco village.

we were able to spot many animal .. spotted deer .. crocodile.. tortoise..

I might have missed many things but it is must trip for those who want peace of mind and adventure in sunderbans ..

personal advice : Go for 3 days 2 night tour

after this tour went to digha beach and came back to kolkata

we opted for bike tour..

again it was one of the best parts of trip.

we got awesome local breakfast (puri and channa, parantha and aloo)

we covered whole city with so fun .. singing songs ..

relaxing evening at ghats

if you want to visit kolkata .. I can't think of any better option.. lunch was again at bengali restaurant and coffee at indian coffee house ..

special note :

Mowgli dada
rajesh dada
ajay dada
keeth dada
sutan dada
Sailesh dada
Arif bhaijaan .... and many more

it was all because of you that made our sunderban trip so good .. thankyou so much ..

P.s. : don't forget us .. will be visiting again soon

Organizers are awesome, our guide was crazy and wild, the trip is a bit long but you have time to think about whatever you have in mind.

The ecovillage like is small and peaceful. All this area is making you feel things slowlier.

You also can meet volonteers working there.

In a way, it s was a great input to the indian nature and wild life.
