Fair location on Sudder Street so all cabbies know this destination well as it's about 40 minutes in a prepaid cab (circa INR280) from the airport. Maintenance staff slow to correct reported faults, basic breakfast. Sullen staff.

Room Tip: Lower floors are best option as no lift

location the biggest plus else rooms need complete revamp..everything on the third floor not in good shape.. my observation for net booking they ensure to allot rooms only in 3rd floor that needs complete revamp rather the lower floors which seems to give you at least a warm look..when I requested they change my room they did it but the second one was not up to the mark also... no proper toiletries with a reason inventory issue for certain essentials like dental kit, shower gel, room slipper... restaurant doesn't give a good feel aesthetically..Rooms are in dire need of a make over

Small hotel, with a small campus that gives you a sense of space, located on a very busy street. Kolkata museum is located just round the corner from sudder Street, hotel's location. Victoria memorial & Fort William are also nearby. Sudder Street (near park Street) is located in a very busy & congested business district of Kolkata. Stay there, only if you want to stay at a walkable distance from nearby attractions.

Rooms vary in size. Have all the modern amenities I.e. lcd Tv, travel desk, geyser & AC. Don't expect to see any views, other than the walls of the nearby building, from inside the rooms though.

Housekeeping is positively poor. Floor under the bed, seemed never to have been cleaned. Window curtains would often come down, if one tried to roll them up. Sheets were old and stained.

In room dining, & restaurant is their silver lining. Food is good.

Small campus, in front of the hotel, gives one a sense of breathing space in those congested areas.

I decided to stay over at Walson due to my flight delay and also for a fact that I lost my wallet. The staff is extremely helpful here. Rooms are very clean though a bit stuffy
So are the washrooms. But what makes this place stand out is the staff
Very warm polite and extremely helpful. Also the location is right close to Park Street and Mirza Ghalib road and new market
Am definitely visiting soon again

This property is located right in the heart of this ancient city adjacent to the famous Park Street. Stayed here for two days last week when I was in Kolkata on work. Easy accessibility and convenience of location are two major attractions. There are only around 20 - 25 rooms in three floors. The rooms are modest but comfortable. However, there appears to be lack of proper maintenance. More cleanliness is also desirable. They have an open restaurant at the entrance and another small hall at the top floor where they serve the complimentary morning buffet break fast which is not bad. Overall its not a bad deal for the location if you are an adjustable person.
