We booked the hotel through yatra ~12th December for a check in on 28th. When we landed at the hotel, to our surprise, the reception denied any intimation from yatra and said they would not be able to honour the yatra voucher. On calling up yatra, they said that the management refused them booking after confirming first, but yatra did not inform us. Later, there were different versions provided by the management and yatra blaming each other.

Anyways, we booked directly with the hotel for one night since 29th was not available. The rooms were decent, clean with a geyser in the bathroom for 24 hrs water. The best part about the hotel is that it is bang on chowrasta, in the middle of the market. However, there is no taxi drop till the hotel because no vehicles are allowed near the market. You need to get a porter from mall road and walk up to the hotel

The snacks served were good. however, the dinner was strictly average. The hotel is near a mosque hence be prepared to wake up at 6 am with the prayers being recited on a loudspeaker. Also, ensure you get rooms at the back side, not facing on the mall, to avoid market noise.

Due to this miscommunication between yatra and hotel, we had to shell out 4.5k extra for another hotel.

Strongly suggest booking this hotel directly and not through any online agent.

The hotel is just next to mall market and close to chowrasta. Colonial style rooms with wooden panelling. Kettle(tea coffee making facility) geyser, good food, toiletries provided. Some small niggles are that the shower couldn't practically be used as the water pressure was very less. The toothbrush holder was dirty. The dressing light wasn't working. So it could do with abbot more of quality check and upkeep. Other than that linen and rooms were clean.
Please note if you have a lot of luggage you be better off requesting a porter as vehicles cannot approach the hotel. It's about a 3 to 4 min walk from bhanu bhavan and the road is at a slight incline.

Overall good stay.

I went to Darjeeling in the month of March. It was pretty chilled weather all over Darjeeling. Booked hotel sunflower online blindly without watching reviews. But had a very enjoyable stay in hotel.
Hotel is at main/central location exactly on mall in Darjeeling. Rooms are small, crampy but ok. Food is good in quality but only vegetarians food served as per hotel policy. Vehicles can't go up to door step in day time as main mall road. Hotel has two floors below ground , no lift. One can see tallest peak Kangchenjunga from room also.Overall nice hotel at stay as it is at main center place.

Best feature of this property is its location. The hotel staffs are very courteous.
I had stayed in a two bedded room the size of which was very impressive.

Note : They do not serve any non veg food. Wifi signal was not accessible from the the room.

Located next door to the Mall market this property is as centrally located as can be wished for. But there ends the wish list. Visited during mid July, the off season, the experience was like a mixed bag. The restaurant serves vegetarian food only. Simple dishes r well prepared and of adequate quantity. Nothing to brag for. The rooms are compact and lot needs to be done with its upkeep. Linen and towels were below expectations. Somehow didn't feel fresh and clean at all times. All had dirty marks. View was anything but commendable. Almost surrounded by other properties except for the top floor suite rooms which too had poor view compared to the other property we stayed a year back. Felt cheated with the tariff since was offered only 40% inspite of booking in advance. Others who booked later got up to 60% off on their tariff. The receptionist can't be trusted. They cheated me even after I asked for what others were getting, the they refused siting marwari owners business policies. Even accepting that they sold rooms for 70% only because some one else bargained for. 60% or more discounts on the room tariff can make this property a attractive option. Hygiene might still be an issue. Better to ask for the tariff first and then the discount %. Hot water and clean toilet are not an issue as expected from this category of hotels in Darjeeling. Room service is warm and friendly, ask for Rishi. He's the all seasons guy and really helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for no less than 60% discount once you have asked the tariff. If u get less than 50% go for another property.
