Went with my family. Service was good. Food was excellent. Specially Appam, Parotta and Beef curry. Moderately priced. Car parking space is an issue. Need to park on the road, it is managed with a security guard.

An average restaurant. Boasts of quality Kerala cuisine and other stuff, but really disappointing.. visited their Velachery outlet as well as the sholinganallur outlet.. couldn't find any difference.

We went there for lunch. Ordered prawns biriyani, meals and one ghee rice. Prawns biriyani was too spicy. Karimeen pollichatu was good. Ghee rice was entirely different from the one we used to have in kerala. We ordered one meals too, which again was another disappointment.

Overall to say Food is very average.. Pricing also is kept high. Ambiance is good with malayalam songs on background.

Anyways not recommended if you are looking for authentic Kerala food. Now you have got a lot of options in Velachery itself. Consider them also if you have craving for Kerala food.

I had checked into The Spring hotel, which is adjacent to Kumarakom hotel. We checked into the hotel late evening, were hungry and wanted to grab something quickly. The In-Room dining was bit on the expensive side, so, I bumped into the Kumarakom.
The restaurant is quite nice and ambience was okay. The choice of curries for Vegans is quite less, however, you shouldn't complain, as this hotel specialises in Non-Veg items. As I was waiting for my order, I got to see many people placing orders for many non-veg items, that they mentioned were pretty good here.

Fond of fish curries and fish starter / main courses . So had been here , food tasted awesome. And also tried once at Adyar restaurant (some time back) , they were entertaining by singing some songs, which is not usual in this kind of normal restaurants.

Loved it!
