We stayed here for 2 nights after having a nightmarish experience with their sister property, Imperial Palace. Though this is a business hotel, the service and food standards were much better than Imperial. Good lobby, helpful front desk, a BIG thanks and well done to room service and concierge for being so nice and helpful.
Decent rooms, large bathrooms, there really isn't much to complain about, except that for the money one pays, the "WOW" factor is missing. They need to provide more add- on services for that to happen. Apparently frequently used by several airlines to put up their staff, the hotel is frequently fully booked.

One con is connectivity. Cell phone reception not clear. Only cool cabs available to go to the main city, and they dont charge by meter but have a fixed (very high) fare. On the way back to the hotel, made the mistake of coming by auto and the auto could not make it up the steep hill. So be careful.

Another con is the hygeine of the plates/cups/glasses/cutlery in the restaurant: inevitably all a chipped, greasy or stained. The lunch and dinner is decent, but breakfast quality is really bad. Imagine eating bad poha in Bombay!!!

Overall a good decent place, but not worth the money they charge.

We were planning a short getaway in Mumbai and both Imperial Palace and Royal Palms were fitting our requirements. Ultimately the idea of private pool won over the limo service of Imperial. Had booked an executive villa through the reception over phone and had got 20% discount. On reaching there found it to be upgraded to valley view villa. Golf carts take you to your cottage. Greeted with a big complimentary chocolate cake. Really liked the cottage - living room, bedroom, a big washroom with jacuzzi, a private pool and a pool-side area with bistro table. As per the reviews, I had read, locks of the room were old but working fine. The remotes of the dual TVs needed battery replacement, intercom - the staff-on-duty got the things rectified in 30min. The rooms were well furnished and clean. The pool too had crystal clean water and filled to the brim, so that you had a good view of the lush green Aarey valleys while floating over the water. Jacuzzi worked fine too with hot/cold combinations. Had food at Jade Pavilion only as room services were working out to be costly. Nice buffet spread and nice courteous and helpful staff. Being pure vegetarians who wont touch onion and garlic, we were pampered well with the manager there personally identifying items suitable for us and had exclusive dishes prepared for us. Awesome experience of dipping into the pool with mugs of hot chocolate coffee in the middle of night with the pool adeuately lighted. Next morning the concierge helped us get a cool cab who are available in the premises on call. Good experience and would like to do this again

Room Tip: Executive villas give you larger pools, in case you are going for valley view - ask for the one with...

Its located far from the city which is a good thing if you need to get away for a day or two from hustle bustle of the city. The hotel looks under contruction, the service was poor and slow. they could have done better with the location and construction.

1. Room not ready despite reservation
2. The 1st room we enter, @ 1am in the night, just happens to have a guest already staying inside. Feel sorry for the shocked poor fellow sleeping in his undies
3. Rooms are spacious & have all the amenities that a 5 star gives, but there is the feel of dampness, the worn out furniture, the half broken locks and handles, etc
4. Extremely punctual. Their buffet closes at 10:30am sharp even on Saturday. To ensure they close at 10:30am sharp, they remove almost everything from the counter @ 10:20am itself. So be there early, even if you're on a weekend vacation
5. Most of the dishes on the menu don't seem to be available. The server had to go check in the kitched regarding availability
6. Decor is loud, ostentatious and completely worn out
7. Wildlife is fantastic. You'll find the occassional mouse in the room ways, & lizards
8. Far far away from almost everything. Thankfully the hotel has gratis cabs that drop you to the nearest public transport facility

All in all, if you want a private villa with a pool @ great rates in Mumbai, and are willing to overlook the minor flaws in service & appearance, then this is the place!

The staff isn't rude, but other than the cheerful doorman & porter, the rest seem indifferent.

Room Tip: Get the porter to go ahead & check if the room is actually vacant.

Had booked the Corner Villa with Private Pool for only 1 night,as we were visiting an exhibition.
On arriving at the Hotel, we were shocked to find out that their Corner Villas were closed for renovation. Why did the Hotel take the reservation in the first place. Also on arriving at the Hotel Lobby, overall experience was horrible, approach road looks like a construction site, as the lobby itself was filthy & musty, smelling of fungus odour. Dont book this hotel & dont go by their Website marketing, etc etc. There are thousands of better Hotels in Mumbai. Just avoid this one. plsssss!!!!
