There's nothing quite like arriving in India. Most international flights land somewhere around midnight and no one is prepared for the crowds, heat and noise of Indian airports. This was my fourth trip and by far the easiest so far. Arriving in Mumbai, the best way to go is to order a pre-paid taxi from the stall just past the passport control and baggage carousels. A prepaid taxi fare to the Hyatt was 300 rupees (around $6-7.00), and about 10 mins or so. Avoiding the onslaught of humanity, ready to carry your bags, take you to hotels, etc, made the entree into one of the most populated cities into the world, seamless and very pleasant. As we were only staying one night before flying to Goa, and were exhausted, staying at the airport was perfect.
The hotel is beautiful and well worth the fare. I highly recommend the breakfast buffet to get you going for a day in Mumbai or an on-going flight.More
