It’s always a pleasure dining here. The iconic all day dining restaurant at Taj Mahal hotel has kept its reputation solid for all these years & moved with the times.

The sunday brunch though pricey, is a delight to dine as the team bends over backwards to accommodate your tastes & preferences.

Even if something is not on offer, they will get it done for you.

For a pleasurable meal with great service, head to shamiana!

Pros:: Very well mannered, well trained and knowledgable staff. They took very good care of us. We felt special. Unlimited liquor cocktails options. Many food options available in buffet and you can order food of your choice and they will prepare it for you. It was Easter special so, many themed candies, pastries, chocolates and cakes were available - we didn't try many but we could see children's were having fun.
Cons::
We seen many champagne bottles at liquor section and asked for glass of champagne . But the server told us that champagne bottles were just kept there for showcase and not for consumption. After few minutes we seen the same server giving some of guest champagne and then hiding it. Felt little discriminated. Upon telling this experience to the server who was serving on our table, he told us that "sir it should not have happened with you. if you want I can get it for you' but then it was time to leave.

Built in 1903, 21 years before Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Palace is a grand heritage hotel and one of the most recognizable landmarks of the city.

Location & Ambience – Shamiana is located on the ground floor of the hotel and offers indoor and outdoor seating. The ambience is classy but a little cramped-up!

Food & Service – I visited this restaurant for the breakfast buffet which was elaborate but not extravagant. The food was good and the service was top-notch.

Value for Money – This might not be the best restaurant in town for breakfast but is still a decent choice. However, if you are looking for Taj Mahal Palace experience, might I suggest you go for lunch instead at the “Souk” where you can enjoy the views of the Gateway too.

The abundant food choices at this restaurant made it a good option for all. Especially enjoyed the fresh pressed juices and healthier offerings.

To all the parantha lovers of Mumbai, At The Shamiana, the team of Chef Kamra, Chef Deergpal, Chef Shefali and other team members are making awesome stuffed and fried paratha's.

Specifically on my request, the chef's made Gobhi parantha. It truly shows their love for this dish during

They serve with a bowl of plain curd(plain yogurt), along with Delicious and mouth watering White Butter(you might have to ask for it).

Believe me among the menu for vegetarians that's the best value for money and is full stomach filling.

Final icing on the Cake is the dessert by Chef Farheen Khan, super sundae is a must try.

Best regards to all the Shamiana team members and please keep up the momentum.
