For this place to be buzzing busy on Monday is truly something I haven’t seen anywhere!

The vibe and energy at this place it lit! Located at Powai, this place make the experience very elite yet fun.

We walked in the gigantic door which had a huge ‘H’ door handle! As you entered you will be welcomed warmly by the staff. It was 7.30 PM and the place was already almost full. The music there gets you already tapping.

The menu is very presentable. Love the interiors as there are both high rise and low seating tables and chairs. The lighting is dim here. The décor includes vintage typewriters and huge wall clock, vintage TV feel. One the screens they play clips of old Indian TV serial like the Hum Paach and others.

Getting started with Drinks

1. Snow White: Made with apple juice and hints of cinnamon, this drink is definitely a must try!! Comes with generous amounts of apple chucks. Gives a very refreshing taste and flavor.

2. Balsamic Apple Smash : The most fancy looking drink here! The apple cooked on slow flame with balsamic vinegar, then poured in a huge glass with ice cubes, orange slices and a pint of Heineken right inside the glass! Huge kick coming your way!

3. Bhatt Saab ki Candy : A total eye cancy comes with actual candy floss, vodka with masala chai and Kahlua- a coffee flavoured liqueur from Mexico !

4. Bitcoin Hiccup : Another one of my favs! A gin based drink with triple sec, orange bitters and dark chocolate. They also give you edible gold coin chocolate which a treat!

5. Hitchki Freaky Shake : A mix of all the richness of Dark rum, Bourbon, Brandy, cream, dark chocolates and all lovely colorful toppings

Now let’s talk about the food here

1. The Mezze Platter – this platter is way different then the regular mezze platter. It comprises of chole tikkis, kori roties, hummus, coriander pesto

2. Bhut Zolokia BBQ Chicken wings and rings – this one comes with the most spiciest chilly Bhut Zolokia and BBQ sauce, the juicy chicken wings will absolutely melt in your mouth giving you that tingle of spice in the end.

3. Prawns

4. Chicken Chilly – this one comes as a green dish with Indian green herbs and spices but is definitely not a Chinese dish.

5. Lamb Kebabs – delicate kebabs served with fresh mint chutney and onions are a perfect combination.

6. The Chinese Bhel – yummy and crispy Chinese bhel is like no other, the schezwan sauce has a very different taste with a mix of tangy and spicy flavours, not like the one you always might eat!

For Desserts we had

1. Banofee Bomb : this one is a must try, not only good looking but the taste will leave you in a sinful indulgence giving you a rich flavor of caramel, with chocolate coating and inside the chocolate bomb you will scoop your way into smooth vanilla icecream and loads of nuts. A total delight !

2. Laila Majnu : another one which is simply made with Parle G biscuit crumbs base with white chocolate and dark chocolate !

Overall :

This place will not at all disappoint you, the vibe and energy will just instantly get you in a relaxed mode and the food here will instantly lift you spirits with some amazing music to get you grooving !

The staff is very helpful – Tahir Shaikh helped us a lot in recommending the best from the menu and we truly loved everything !

Definitely gonna visit again !

“The belly rules the mind”.

Powai is known for stylishly luxurious residential buildings, sumptuous eating houses & pubs that makes it the most preferred & happening suburbs of Mumbai. One such well-to-do place is Hitchki (meaning “hiccup”) reminiscing you of your good old days & that’s the concept. You come here with one or many, talk about your good or bad days, giggle over it and have fun.

Hitchki nestles at Hiranandani Business Park and quite popular amongst corporates & diners for their conviviality & sociability. The restaurant is spacious and clutter free with comfortable seating arrangements. Interiors are smartly placed & not over-done with few vintage items that are obsolete and only seen in museums. Everything inside the restaurant plays an important character to light up your mood and creates an aura to impress you. Lively & bright ambience diminishes your stress & takes you in a happy go lucky zone. Music in the background goes from soft to loud but does not hurt your ears.

I was galvanized when Nigel (one of the staff) spoke highly about the food & he knew about each and every dish on the menu. He was quick-witted & on his toes; never let us wait for the food. His confidence was a confirmation that Hitchki has a great hospitality.

All the dishes were presentably plated and looked appetising. Not only were they savoury but delicious too. Quality & quantity of food were amazeballs. The menu is designed giving a fair choice to both the carnivorous & herbivorous species.

Prawns Sambal Oelek Dim Sum – a Chinese cuisine prepared as a bite-sized portion made of steamed dumplings & sambal oelek paste (made from red chillies, salt & lime). Served in a jute box, the dumplings were fresh with prawns stuffing and had to be eaten with vinegar & soya sauce.

Wok The Talk - a fusion of broccoli + soya + garlic is a pioneered dish of the Hitchkies. Tender broccoli pieces dipped & re-dipped into soya & garlic was a pleasure to our taste buds. You cannot stop eating it.

Patrani Chili Poppers – a combination of banana chillies + patrani marinade stuffed with mustard & paneer & steamed in banana leaves. We generally run away from chillies but you will try this because of the unique flavour it brings to the table & something new to explore.

Charlie Chapli Kebab – spicy lamb minced kebab with thecha mayo was undeniably one of best starters of the evening. It was juicy, tasty with the perfect mixture of ingredients.

Thai Curry Risotto – not a fan of risotto but this did give a good Thai curry taste & fine to eat it.

Ghee Rice With Roast Chicken – Mangalorean roast chicken is a famous South Indian dish originated in Kundapura district made up of succulent chicken with fiery red, tangy & spicy ingredients. Despite their own rendition, the chef made it perfect & tasteful. The ghee rice was cooked properly with limited amount of ghee and the combination was terrific.

You must try all their desserts (Khas Khas Ka Halwa / Baratiyo Ka Swagat / Laila Majnu / Banoffee Bomb) because each dessert has their unique taste & innovatively made. It would be wrong to say about one because all of them surprised us with their looks, sweetness & texture.

Hitchki as a place has a long way to go and considering the pace they are moving, they definitely seem to be in a healthy mood with the only intention to provide the best to their customers. If you are in and around Powai, do not miss out on this place. Do visit and share your piece of happiness.

Detailed Review-

Location- Located on the one of the busiest roads of Mumbai, JVLR (Jogeshwari-vikroli Link Road). Really good location with great footfall and it’s even better that they got the place in the middle of many restaurants. (4.5/5)

Concept- A restaurant serving modern Indian food along with few of the finest beverages is what they have thought of and yes super fine interiors to go along with it. (4.5/5)

Look and Feel- Electrifying atmosphere is what I can say when I entered on a Monday evening at 8 pm. being a Monday evening it was almost full and the place looked really happening as soon as we entered. Interiors are kept really simple yet classy. Got long bar which looks classic with lots of exotic alcohol bottles can be seen at the back. Music is something I would like to mention it was really rocking. Feel throughout my meal was really positive and happening. (5/5)

Service/Staff- Highly impressed with the service they offered. Big appreciation for the each staff member of hitchki. Each server had good knowledge of the menu they are serving which was impressive. Service staff was enthusiastic and was always available to help you out. (5/5)

Food and Beverage- When Food and Beverage of any restaurant is good then everything is positive isn’t it? Firstly I would like to mention that menu designing won the points here in hitchki, as food menu got few of the best and limited dishes. Cuisine is mainly modern Indian food and they have done it in the grand way. Few of the dishes were outstanding and garnishes of each dish were superb. Now days it feels so nice that Indian cuisine is really modernised in which they use special ingredients, service style and garnishes all are modernised compare with old days. Bar menu have few of the top notch cocktails which are made with really different ingredients. Beverage menu is lengthy and you can try as many different varieties you want to try and I am sure you will get a new/different drink each time. (5/5)

• INDISMOKE (Cocktail) - Gin and triple sec based smoky drink made with cucumber juice and smoky flavour of apple. Enjoyed the smoky taste and on the other wide it was refreshing too due to cucumber.(4.5/5)

• BLUE EYES HYPNOTISE LIIT(Cocktail)- A classical LIIT served in a tall and handsome glass which had 5 white spirits like rum, vodka, gin, tequila, triple sec and blue Curacao syrup. A perfect strong LIIT you can get with citrus/sweetish punch of blue Curacao.(5/5)

• BITCOIN HICCUP(Cocktail)- A sweetish drink made with triple sec, gin, orange bitters, garnished with grated dark chocolate and served along with chocolate coins. This drink which was served in the martini glass took me to our childhood days when we use to get those coin shaped chocolates wrapped in a gold wrapper looking like a dollar. (4.5/5)

• BALSAMIC APPLE SMASH (Cocktail) - A really huge cocktail made with vodka, Heineken beer, lemon juice, apple slices and balsamic vinegar. A massive drink you musty order for sure.(5/5)

• VASAI KER BHUJING (Starter) - well famous dish of vasai-virar (Few kms from Mumbai). Chicken roasted and tossed with potatoes, fried onions and mixed with crispy poha along with few of the local masalas. This dish which came in local dabba along with crispy poha was surprising and gave wow factor to our meal. Chicken was moist, flavourful and crispy poha along with good amount of coriander was doing magic. Enjoyed it.(5/5)

• ‘NAAN’ ACHI TAANG (Starter) - Wow excellent dish. Whole chicken leg marinated in their secret hitchki marination and cooked in the tandoor which was served on the top of the butter naan along with green chutney and sliced onions. Chicken leg was well marinated and was moist enough after cooking.(5/5)

• CHARLIE CHAPLIN KEBABS (Starters) - Kababs made from mutton mince and then shallow fried served along with potato crispy wafers. It was served along with spicy mango mayo as dip. Flavoursome Kababs with balanced spices and cooked to the perfection.(4.5/5)

• PRAWN JAYE PAR (Starter)- Thick prawns cooked in butter garlic sauce along with little cream to give a creamy texture and finally squeezed little fresh orange juicy for more citrus touch. It was served on the bed of lollorosso lettuce along with a wedge of Malta orange. Enjoyed the dish more after squeezing more orange juice.(4.5/5)

• SAVJI MUTTON (Main course) - A very famous dish of Nagpur, which had medium spicy dark gravy made from onions and local masalas and had chunks of well cooked mutton. It can be accompanied with roti/naan or rice so we preferred roti. The dish was served along with little thick onion roundels and mint raita. Strongly recommended for mutton lovers.(5/5)

• LAKSA PRAWN DUM BIRYANI (Main course) - Tiger prawn dum biryani made from Laksa (Southeast Asian dish made from paprika, galangal, lemongrass, garlic, coconut milk etc) paste. A super successful twist to the biryani. Had good amount of fried onion and mint which was giving the punch to the biryani along with laksa curry which had good amount of coconut milk. Biryani cooked from basmati rice and served along with pineapple raita. Strongly Recommended.(5/5)

• HAZELNUT CREME BRULEE (Dessert) - Really creamy Brulee flavoured with hazelnut and topped with good sugar glazed and caramelised hazelnuts. Not very heavy, go for it.(4.5/5)

Thank you so much Hitchki...
