We went to visit Dome yesterday evening and I wish we hadn’t of bothered! The lay suggested that we sit on of of the high tables but our view was blocked by a plant so we moved to one of the sofa seats. We asked and asked for a drinks menu and after about 15 mins I gave up and got it myself. Finally someone came over to rake our order and then the drinks arrived.
We had been sat for probably 45 mins when a couple arrived and it was clear that there was nowhere the lady would like to sit although there was plenty of choice. Our host came over and asked us to “shift” as the couple had apparently booked for 6 people therefore our table was reserved - news to us! We did move and sat for another 20 mins approx, nobody else arrived and the couple ordered food. We felt really uncomfortable and asked for he bill (1300 rupees for two beers).
The bill did not arrive and we asked again. Eventually the bill came and the waiter asked how our evening was and we said it was disappointing, he asked why and we explained. He didn’t say a word and we paid. We thought that someone would come and speak to us - we were wrong. On the way out I approached the waiter and asked what the point of asking how our evening was if wasn’t interested in or answer. He pointed to the manager and agin we explained what had happened. He apologised and he said he would show us the booking for the couple and explained they had booked the table for 6pm! Sorry was all they could say. After leaving the bar and checking the time I realised that the couple who had allegedly booked for 6 people were 2 hours late!
Having worked in hospitality I can not of bad service. This place is not cheap therefore it is so important to impress your guests to ensure it’s worth the money.
Save your money and sit on the front to watch the sunset. The view is just as good for free.
