It is a cool cafe with amazing ambiance. This cafe is surrounded by an art gallery and a small garden with lush green trees and bushes. They have both indoor as well as outdoor sitting. The items in the menu are super interesting. You get items like bel ka sharbat, aam papad chocolate cheese tart etc etc. We ordered Khajoor and adrak ka cake which caramel dressing which was supremely yummy, masal chai, cold coffee. It costed around Rs.400. It is a perfect place to strike a conversation with your friends or read a book or simply hangout. They also have items like Apple cinnamon pickle, multi grain cookies, ragi bread etc as take away items.

Being on my wishlist for so long I finally got to visit Triveni Cafe.
What a place
It's so peaceful and calm.
Has both an outdoor and indoor seating & is quite reasonably priced.
We chose to sit outside.
Was here for breakfast.
Ordered their masala chai & poha.
Poha was really tasty & fulfilling.
Can't wait to go back to try more.
Recommended for people who like art & peace & greenery.

No matter how many time I visit Mandi House, every time I find a new story and hidden places at this art-couture destination. Roads leading to off chai addas, theatre, auditorium, eateries, so many hangout places. This time my hunger ends at one of the oldest, still coolest destination of the area i.e., Triveni Tea Terrace.

Quite popular among art-lover, social activist, lawyers and theatre artist, Triveni Terrace cafe is known for its home-made styles food especially Keema Parantha, Upma, Poha, Coffee, Mushroom Chop, Spiced Carrot Cake, Cheesy Grilled Sandwich, -sweet Apple ki Pakodi, mouth-watering chicken biryani, chicken curry, steaming chicken kebabs, snacky Doodhi Nu Muthiya and what not… I personally like presentation of the food. The cafe’s attraction lies in diverting one’s mind from the daily grind by offering tantalising food for thought.
True and traditional to its antics, Triveni offers indoor, roof –shed and garden style all three styles to hangout. The shrub, creepers, terrace, grass and ceramic pots, open air lounge along with the amphitheatre, has the perfect combination of classy, yet, oozy factors in the air. The cafe offers no music but creating the ambience for oneself to enjoy with friends or read one’s own stuff.
Witnessing the ups and downs in the lives of cities artist from past four decades, Triveni has also undergone a look over in 2014, told a septuagarian theatre artist. “Nothing much has been changed from its old look, bar stools have replaced the wooden ones at one part, but outside works ought to be the same,” said the old-man further elaborating about the revamp. The old took the pride in explaining me the things about the Triveni theatre and its history, nor did I stop him.
Seeing the whole structure and speaking to the gentle-man I felt that the cafe soul lie in its structure, atmosphere and ambience. While, revamping the structure designer could have heedlessly destroyed the 40-old structure, but it seems that artist retouched the place very sensitively and maturely while framing the cafe in a contemporary showcase.

The old man also told that Triveni is the undistinguished part of many renowned artists like Late M F Hussain, Painter Vasudeo S.Gaitonde, Late Journalist Ramesh Thapar, many AAP leaders, Shombu Mitra, etc. Artists would sit here over cupsful of streaming coffee or tea and plan or debate for further action.

Meanwhile, taking the last sip of coffee, I would like to conclude that Triveni should be visited by every Delhiites in the lifetime. Not only for the food and atmosphere, but this place is a far off from any regular coffee shop of the cities. Apart from food and atmosphere, Triveni Sangam (The name of building) also showcases the painting, dance, artists and people’s expression. The travel buds of your mind would crave for more destinations like this….

I have been to Triveni Cafe multiple times and what I love about this place is the ambience.

This time I went there along with my friend as she wanted to explore this place.

What we ordered -

We ordered Filter coffee, Aaloo Tikki, pakore, vegetable cheese toast, aam papad and dark chocolate cake.

Filter coffee was great in taste - just the way i like my coffee, so its a thumbs up!

Aaloo tikki and pakore are my all time favourite over here and this place never fails to impress us when it comes to these two dishes, crispy, freshly prepared and great in taste. - must try

Vegetable cheese toast , aam papad and dark chocolate cake - i spotted new in the menu, written over the board. Vegetable cheese toast was ok! Not too good, i think they would have experimented more with the taste of it.

Aam papad and chocolate cake was new and interesting combination for me. There was a strong flavour of aam papad but could not fee that strong flavour of chocolate cake along with it. The cake was not very soft, but yes ok in taste. Can be tried if you are experimental like me.

Just a suggestion- do try tea as well over here, its awesome!!

It is an old school restaurant, with food that reminds you of home food. Go their a bit before lunch or after lunch, otherwise long queues would greet you. The food is good but it can get a bit hot during summers as the sitting is outdoor. Perfect for extended lunches during winters.
