The bar scene in Bocas Town is fun, if a little crazy at times. I had heard about a new floating bar a short taxi ride(less than 5 minutes. $2) from the center or town. The name is "OffShores" but most of the taxi drivers know it as the "Floating Bar." I can tell you know it is a calm jewel in crazy Bocas. Nestled in a small bay with a glorious view of the Caribbean, it is the perfect spot to have a small bite to eat (my favorite fish tacos in town)and try a signature drink (watermelon margarita). Or maybe just drink a few Panamanian beers.
I went a few times and the crowd was a nice mix with locals, ex-pats and tourists hanging together. The scene is always serene. Best for an afternoon in the sun or an early, light dinner. Happy Hour rocks. It was always busy but never crazy.
My advice to everyone is to take a break from Bocas Town and head to OffShores. Beautiful Spot. Great Food and Drinks. Super People.
