This is a nice small guest house not far from city center. The signage of the hotel is not easy to find and the guest house door is inside the garage. You need to drive slowy and the next door is pharmacy Kumaran(?). As this guest house is at Kandy-Colombo Highway, but it is about 5-7 minutes walk to Clock Tower. As it is at busy road then expect some traffic noise but not in midnight as the traffic get lesser. The check in is very efficient and the receptionist is very kind with all the information. No lift in this guest house and expect to climb stairs. The eating area is just at the ground floor with the kitchen, the host cooks the meal and it tastes great. The room is adequate in size, clean and very nice bed. No coffee or tea making facility in room, but you can help yourself in the kitchen area. Two bottles of free water given in each room and there is no cloth hanger inside the room. In every floor there is sitting area. The bathroom is small with standing shower, the water power is average but the hot water is great, it gets hot very fast. Wifi is not that good and quite slow inside the room. To get stronger signal,it is better to go to common sitting area. The breakfast is ala carte with three choice, but is sufficient. The kitchen staffs are so kind and work very well. As this is a guest house, it is suitable for guest who spend more time outside and just need a clean and comfortable place to sleep. Very recommended for short stay in Kandy....

Room Tip: Choose room at the back if you are a light sleeper as rooms facing the front immediately facing the highway with noise.

I was very impressed with every aspect of this small hotel located in the heart of the city.
The staff are all very professional and courteous. The rooms are very clean, with comfortable beds, quiet a/c, and abundant hot water.
There was a choice of breakfast options, all served with delicious homemade marmalades (orange, pineapple and passion fruit).
They arranged are all transportation (tuk tuks and long distance taxi).

This hotel is a delight. Breakfast wonderful, home made jam yummy! Staff all very polite and welcoming, room had a fan, wasn't so large, hot water and a private roof top garden. Is within walking distance of the Queens Hotel, Temple of the Tooth, the Lake and en route are many restaurants to choose to eat from. Highly recommend this clean, well run hotel.

Sevana is a small, friendly well run hotel. Many Kandy guesthouses and hotels are located up a hillside, or a tuk-tuk ride from town, but the Sevana, on the street above the main post office, is just a few minutes walk from the bus and train stations or the city centre and the lake,
First choice for value and convenience.
The breakfast option is well worth booking.
Rooms are simple but clean and quiet - a/c an option.
The owners are very informative about local attractions.
Obs! The entrance is set back from the street and easy to miss. I walked right past it. Sevana is halfway between the Hindu temple and the pedestrian overpass, 20m north of the prominent green "Villa 92" sign.

We stayed here for 3 nights in March and was pleasantly surprised at how clean the place was, particularly the bathroom for the price. We chose to get AC but there was also a fan so maybe not necessary. Our room had a door our to a little garden which was really nice. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in early. We also chose to have breakfast one morning which was very good, perhaps a bit more pricey than other places in Kandy at 750rupees but this included fresh fruit, egg cooked to your choice, toast with a range of jams and a drink of tea or coffee. The hotel is very well located for staying in Kandy. We easily walked to the temple of the tooth, sanctuary park and restaurants. I would recommend to anyone looking for western standards of cleanliness but local sri Lankan hospitality.
