On our way through Jaffna's backyard I asked the driver to head for this well. Well, the word "bottomless" was quite appealing for us. The place is definitely quite nice and most probably it has a bottom or it is connected with some underwater stream.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was raining like hell. We stepped out of the car through ankle-deep water, entered this place (can't remember if we even had to pay entrance fee for all this mess?), made two or three pictures, were nearly sliding into the well because the boardside walk was extremely slippery, and finally gave up thus returning to the car after one two minutes.
With other words:if you pass by, take some pictures from outside (without paying entrance fees) and continue your trip. If you don't pass by, you don't lose anything. There are much worthier wells to see in India.
