We stayed here over 3 weeks with our son. We don't mind twin beds with no television, but the air-conditioner, hot water, wifi, and courtyards made us comfortable. Located next to the new bridge, one gets a good view of activities on the river from the roof courtyard. We like hearing the call to prayer from the nearby mosque and the weekly Thursday night drumming from the local Baye Fall community, but this could disturb guests who seek a quiet location. We found it to be a welcome retreat from the sandy Saint-Louisiane street activities. Very nice breakfast.

We had a very enjoyable experience here for a number over reasons and would definitely recommend it for couples, families, friends.

Positives:
1) The staff here are so kind, welcoming, fun, attentive, you name it! Each day it was a joy to chat with them, eat breakfast, learn about Senegalese culture with them, and practice my French! You definitely get personal quality attention here... we had a small medical issue that required quick attention and the staff immediately dropped what they were doing, drove us in what appeared to be their personal car, and took us to the house/clinic of a nice doctor that broke his back trying to help us... all on new years day! If we were at a larger hotel my guess is that we would not have had such great support..
2) Room is slightly on the smaller end but comfortable.
3) Make sure to spend time on the terrace. Beautiful views while drinking some coffee in the morning or while having some happy hour drinks.
4) At first the location seems a bit inconvenient because its about 8 blocks or so from the center of Saint Louis but in the end I'd say that it's not that bad. For one, since its not in the center its pretty quiet at night when you're trying to sleep, and two the walk is not that bad especially since Saint Louis seems to be so safe.

Room for improvement:
1) Just a mention of a couple small things like the door handle to the bathroom did not work well and the window was kind of messed up and we couldn't open it. We also didn't mention it to the staff because it wasn't a big deal and we were spending so much time outside of the hotel.

We had a great time!

The location is really good and the place is looking pretty nice. The terrace provides you a good overview and the basics were available.
Some aspects could be improved: there is no door (or anything) to the shower, the pillows were smelling pretty bad and they were asking a few times for some tours.

My stay at the Sunu Keir was pleasant. The hotel painted with warm colours offered decent size rooms. The toilet could have been a bit more spacious.
It has a nice court yard and a wonderful terrace to enjoy the evening sun.
The staff was helpful. I would stay there again.

I stayed here with some friends for a weekend trip, and had a great time here. The hotel is lovely and I loved the atmosphere. Also sitting on the rooftop at night was one the highlights of my short trip to Saint Louis.
The only things I would mention was that one of the staff members was quite rude to us since we were mainly a group of women, but the rest of them were great and friendly. Another thing to note is that it's located on the far side of the island, right next to what seemed to be a Quranic school, so if you're not a heavy sleeper, you might be woken up early by the school and the call to prayer. However, the island is not that big, and walking around exploring was more fun than a hassle.
