As mentioned by someone else, discount price for 5 star review. Location good but, hard to have a bad location in Huacachina. Restaurant attached up front has good food and the room we had was cleanish as far as we could tell BUT...

As ridiculous as this sound ( I seriously never thought I'd ever write a review like this) the front desk staff (one guy at least) eats the food guests keep in the kitchen. We had two boxes of leftovers along with a bag of breakfast groceries get taken/eaten. We figured it was the guy at the front and suggested a pen in the kitchen (which is very poorly stocked and always filthy) to label food to avoid mix ups. He pulled the I don't understand English card even though his English was passable when we checked in.

That night, like an HOUR after we told him about the missing food he comes out of the kitchen with our bottle of wine in his hands. As soon as he saw us he tried duck away and again played dumb when we said that it was ours. Talking to a few others were not the only ones with missing stuff!

While missing food is more annoying than anything else, the fact that the staff is taking guest belongings is enough reason for me to advise other travellers to avoid this hostel!

We looked at different rooms incl. a private room (dark, twin beds) and the dorm. The rooms are rather not spaceous and dark. We were told that we could get a big discount for the room, if we would write a positive review on Tripadvisor. The staff wasn't very friendly either. This was the most reveiling and intimidating discount that we have ever been offered. When you view the existing other reviews in this light, you'll know what these reviews are worth. So here is the review you aked for - and it's free, as we didn't take any discount offered for a positive review... Advise: Stop offering discount for fake positive reviews!

I stayed in a shared room, it had 5 beds and the room was big so there was plenty of space por everyone. The price is also good and it is really well located.

there is free Wi-Fi and lots of common areas where you can meet and know other people.

First off don't expect the Hilton: the place is s./50 a night so you get what you pay for. After shopping around, we found this place to be the best deal, and they were quite friendly, if a tad inattentive (you can usually find most staff hanging in the resto if you need anything like extra blankets though). Overall it was decently clean, decently priced restaurant (by Huacachina standards), and their sand boarding school is professionally run by passionate riders. We'd probably stay here again.

In general, Huacachina is super noisy and a little on the haggard side, so regardless of where you stay, you probably won't get a quiet night of sleep. There are always dune buggies and ATVs tearing around, clubs pumping dance music til the wee hours, and we had random street construction with hammering and drilling until midnight as well. Bring earplugs and a positive attitude :)

Have fun in the desert!
