Friendly and welcoming hotel that provides fantastic tours in the desert. We took a camel ride early in the morning to see the sun rise and then a jeep trip with Youssef in the desert, who is a very good guide. Great to search for fossils, see the different plants growing in the arid sand and stone, take pictures of the red dunes with the sharp wind-shaped edges, and visit some villages.

I came to this hotel as part of a larger tour. Everything was nice, loved the beds, air conditioning was weak but more than enough, comfortable space, clean and beautiful grounds. Sadly, the dinner gave me horrendous food poisoning.

I don’t know if the food was old, or what, but the next morning was awful and it got worse from there. I have lost 3.5 days to constant nausea, cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. It was bad enough hospitals were being discussed.

Be wary of the food. I wish I would have known.

Amazing pool to chill out by. Kind service. We were welcomed like family. Great bathroom - hot shower. Standard room was adequate. Good air con. Delicious food in the restaurant. Reasonably priced beer and wine (130 dirham for a bottle of wine). The luxury desert tour (Berber experience) organised by Youseff was amazing. 25 minute walk into town (recommend eating at Cafe tenere). Basic breakfast. Weak WiFi. Covered parking. Great location- the property backs right into the sand dunes. We had three nights in merzouga- first night at les Portes du Désert, then the overnight camp in the desert and then a final night back at les Portes du Désert. It worked well for us and gave us plenty of chill time at the pool. Really good value hotel.

Only spent a night here but the food was good as was the service. rooms spacious with comfortable beds. During our time here the weather was unseasonable cold so never got a chance to use the swimming pool but it did look very inviting.

Beautiful Moroccan-style decorated hotel with a lovely clean swimming pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
View of the Erg Chebbi Dunes. We have camped here. The palms and bushes are still small, but the toilets and showers were one of the best we had in Morocco.
Through the hotel we also had organisted a bivouac in the sand dunes. The reservation via the internet didn't went well, but the manager solved it perfectly and even gave us a upgraded.
At 17:00 we left the hotel for a 1:30 ride to the bivouac at the foot of one of the highest dunes. The bivouac was perfect, even with a bathroom with shower and toilet. The food and the music were also fantastic. The sunset was beautiful and we had a glorious sunrise next morning. My son went even sandboarding here. The price for the whole bivouac at 350 dham / adult and 300 dham / child was very convenient.
All good value for money. This was the second time in this hotel and the bivouac tour and we will definitely be back.
