The accommodation at this hotel was great. It is calm, small, clean and very comfortable place, all inside is beautifully decorated, you feel there like in the One thousand and one nights. It is situated in beautiful heart of the city so walk to/from the hotel you can really enjoy.
Breakfasts are very delicious and the family taking care of the guests is very kind and ready to help with all your needs. Besides good breakfasts you will apreciate the terrace. It's very cosy place with amazing view.
From and to the airport in Tanger we had arranged taxi from the hotel. The car was clean and driver drove well so the journey was comfortable.
We enjoyd the stay in Chefchaouen very much, big part of it was thanks to this hotel, we reccommend it!!!

This has been the best stay in whole of Morocco, let alone Chefchaouen. The rooms are beyond cosy and are amazingly decorated. Loved every element of it.

The hosts are to wish for!
Such hospitality and sense of who your guests are contributed to the overall feeling of the town and our time here. They are multilingual and will make sure you get the best advice around the city.
And what ever you do - don’t pass on the opportunity to have breakfast served on the terrace. Worth every penny.

Next time in these parts - I’m staying longer just because of this place.

As everyone else has already mentioned this Riad is located in the most iconic alley in Chefchauen.
It's a beautiful little place run by a lovely family. Amina did not speak much English but her husband does. Despite that she is the loveliest host and made us a fantastic home cooked dinner which we shared with her and her family at the table. This was probably the best meal we had in whole Morocco trip even if it was basic.
The only downsides were the fact that the bathrooms have window to the little balconies shared by everyone and it makes it a bit difficult if you are a bit conscious. Also, taking the luggage up to the Riad was really difficult. Apparently you can pay some boys/men about 20dirham in the square where the taxi dropps you off to bring them for you but we didn't know that. I wish our host had mentioned it in the confirmation email.
I would highly recommend this lovely place.

POSITIVES: #1 guesthouse to stay in Chefchaouen!!!! Breakfast was lovely (we had the best eggs of our lives while there), hosts kind, helpful, welcoming and accommodating of non-practicers during Ramadan, beautiful ambiance, unique and wonderfully decorated, absolutely perfect location-right at the top of the famous steps of Chaouen. Dar Aldea is such a picturesque guesthouse and I would absolutely stay again if I returned to Chefchaouen.

IMPROVEMENTS: No ventilation at all (room, including linens, were damp the entire stay), privacy issues (Everything could be heard. We also had a patio outside our room but other guests used it to smoke most of the time we were there so we had to keep our windows shut, increasing the ventilation issue). Tea and/or coffee facilities would be nice-I would have liked to have the ability to make it while there.

This hotel is run by a family who also lives there. They are all very welcoming and helpful. They even invited us to dine with them during a family meal breaking the fast the first night of Ramadan. I really felt at home staying here. It is also a quaint building on the top of one of Chefchaouen’s iconic stairways.
