Dar Aldea Was absolutely amazing. From the decor, the service, to the views. Each room has a different colored theme & decor. The view on the roof top is stunning and overlooks the city. Also! The riad is at the top of the famous steps of Chefchaouen. The best part about our stay were our amazing hosts. They made us breakfast in the morning, their son showed us around the city, and they were all very hospitable. I would definitely recommend anyone look for a riad to stay at Dar Aldea

just like in these posted photos, feel walking into a fairy tale when you start into the alley, house, and the rooms. Each room has its own character.
the house wife is good chef, food she cooked is much better than all from restaurants.

Location: inside of heart of medina, stand on the terrace, able to overview city and mountain.

Room Tip: rooms in upstairs may not be quite for people not deep-sleeper at time (5:30 - 6:00) in the morning.

This is a small, humble dar with just a few rooms and a rooftop terrace breakfast area with huge views over the blue city and the surrounding mountains. The young family who run the dar and live on the bottom floor are incredibly nice. Spending time with them was a highlight of our Morocco trip. The breakfasts they made for us were varied and delicious. Our room was simple but nice.

Getting your luggage here is a bit of a challenge, but do-able, and there are usually young men around happy to earn some dirhams helping you find your way and carry bags up the tough spots if you need. A taxi can get you close, then there is a level pedestrian alley and a substantial set of steps winding up to the dar. These blue steps are probably the single most photographed spot in Chefchaouen - you’ll see. Great location, and deep in the medina away from the large cluster of other lodging to the east.

The hotel is positioned above the most iconic steps in Chefchouen. So much so that we walked straight past at first as it was hidden behind tourists having photoshoots. We were welcomed by the son of the family who run this little hotel and were greeted by tea and smiles from him and his mum. it was the perfect welcome and she soon showed us to our beautiful red room with a magical blue en suite which was one of only six rooms. we loved this boutique hotel so much that we spent most of our birthday in Chefchouen relaxing on the beautiful terrace overlooking the city, drinking copious amounts of mint tea. Absolute heaven! Would recommend highly- great value for money- we were gutted when they didn't have space for us for the next night so book in advance!!

Room Tip: the red room was gorgeous and the others looked it too from what we saw.

We stayed at Dar Aldea for our two nights in Chefchaouen. Since we were travelling over the Eid holiday, accommodations were difficult to find at this time and we got incredibly lucky to have found a place like Dar Aldea to stay at.
We drove via our own car to Chefchaouen, parking was close to the entrance of the medina (however on Mondays and Thursdays it will be impossible to park near the entrance as the market is on) and it was approximately a 7-10 minute walk uphill to the riad from the entrance of medina.
WHAT A LOCATION! Located on the famous blue steps, it's an incredible location.
Our room was directly off the first terrace and had incredible views, the second terrace even better views! The food was amazing. We ate an incredible lunch with the entire family upon our arrival, thank you for that experience!
Would recommend this place one hundred times over, was so pleasantly surprised!
