The room was clean and spacious. But the main draw was the beach front, white powdery sand and clear waters. The packaged meals were alright, nothing to rave about but no complains either.

Service staffs were pleasant and provided a welcoming atmosphere.

This is my 1st trip to Redang Island and i chose Laguna Resort because its the only resort at Pasir Panjang Beach thats still open during end of OCT. The resort will close on the 31st OCT due to monsoon season.

I was surprised that there are still quite a big crowd during this time, maybe its because of Deepavali long weekend holiday and Laguna year end promotion. But of course if compare to peak season during Jun to August, this is just around 30% of the crowd. So its still okay.

Im staying in a Garden View room for 4d3n. Rooms are very spacious and clean. There are 1 Kingsize bed and 2 single bed. Toilet amenities are included shampoo, shower bath, shower cap, 2 bath towel, 2 hand towel, 2 face towel. 1 floor towel, hand soup, hair dryer and toilet paper. Others room facilities are safe box, mini fridge, coffee and tea making and 4 bottles of mineral water each day.

I had all my meals in the buffet restaurant. its located at the 1st floor on top of hotel lobby. great view to the white beach and blue sea. Food quality are consider not great but good enough. If you are staying for 3 nights, thats no way you will eat the same food during ur stay except breakfast. There are more than 20 choices of food every meals, from malay food, western food, grill, chinese food to indian food. They only serve coffee / tea, plain water, & orange juice(breakfast) in the buffet. others beverage you have to pay.

Hotel pools are quite big and clean and its separeted to Jacuzzi, adult pool and kids pool.

The package are included daily snorkeling trip to various spots. 9:30am to Marine park, which is just 15mins boat ride from the hotel jetty. Lots of fish to feed. remember to visit the ship wreck on the right side of the beach, a giant garouper on the left side of the beach and 2 big moray eel under the jetty. Beach is clean. But in the water i found some plastic bags floating around. Don't know why people just dont listen during the briefing b4 each snorkeling trip. Don't litter the paradise please....!!! 2nd snorkeling trip will be at 3pm. each day the guides will bring you to a different spots. Shark Bay is just located on the left side of the hotel beach. you can go find some baby black tip shark at this area by yourself. There are a few turtles just in front of the hotel jetty. but you need to ask a guide to bring you there for safety reasons. they are very happy to help you. Blue sand can be found at Redang Reef Resort Beach, next to Laguna Resort. Just walk thru the bridge next to MoMoTea Inn.

Overall its the best hotel located at Pasir Panjang Beach. Hope to go back there very soon.

i went to P.Redang with my wife for 4D3N and stay in laguna redang resort.
book this hotel with a malaysia website marimari.com, and went for the 4D3N package-room, meals(breakfast, lunch, dinner) and ferry to Redang from Terengganu. i also pay for the coach from terengganu airport to Merang port.

room- room is nice and spacious, we choose the garden view, meaning no view from our room, i dont see the need to pay for pool view or sea view cos you just need to walk out from your room and walk 100 steps- incredible seaview, so why pay more.

location- well its in Pulau redang, beside berjaya resort, most of the hotel/resort are on the same stretch of beach, so, if you are bored with your hotel, you can walk next door.

food- good variety of food and eating there 4days does make it a bit boring, dont expect lots of seafood cos there isnt, but generally is ok. but max 4 days. there are also some local food, suitable for ppl from all over the work

nightlife- what nightlife? Laguna redang has a live band but its not great, good effort but not great. There isnt much nightlife in Redang, the hotel next to us has a disco but not sure abt the turn out.

crowd- the hotel seems to have a lot of tourist from china, i mean really a lot, and i dont see many from other hotel. can be quite noisy at time also.i think its alll because of a chinese movie shoot in redang in 1995(i guess), and the hotel has beedn milking it as much as you can

activities- my package include 4 snorkeling trip (include 1 to marine park) which is very very good. each trip there have 3 ship going out to the sea, so the snorkeling can be quite packed. but based on the capacity of the hotel, there WILL be lots of ppl in those trips. The recreation centre has pool, and lots of board game. you can kayak too. you know the usual stuff.

tips-the ferry leave laguna redang noon time, cant remember the exact time, something 11am-15am. so if you pay for 4 DAYS, on the forth day, you not actually going to be stay there for long. so, before you book you hotel/package, call them and work out the time you fligh/coach arrive in terengganu-from airport to the Merang port-from Merang port to redang port. dont waste extra money

you can ask the local boys where can you snorker to see baby shark-its less than 4 metres from the shore when i see 7 of them and its just in front of the hotel!

bring few loaf of bread to feed the fish, no point buying from them.

hope this help!

cheers

Was there for a 3 days 2 nights stay with a friend. However, my friend and I were bitten on the first night by bed bugs! Hands, legs, backs and faces. We're still scarred till today.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/feie/3920323340/

There were so many bed bugs crawling out of the pillows when we turned on the lights during our first morning there.
Needless to say, our holidays were ruined as we were both itchy and frustrated by the numerous bites. We had to avoid the sun too, as our skin may react to the UV rays. Imagine having to stay in the hotel room all day. No refund offered by the management although we missed the snorkeling trips and had to fork out extra for our medical bills when we returned to our country.
The experience of sleeping in their beds, not knowing if there were any more bed bugs, is sheer torture.

Located on gleaming white sands, this large hotel is perfectly suited to family holidays. It has an enormous swimming pool, plenty of restaurants, bars and shops, all of which were of a high standard. The rooms are large and comfortable and easily took the 4 of us. Predominantly used by the Chinese and Malay Chinese who were very friendly.
The inclusive snorkelling trips were excellent with a fantastic variety of fish to see.
The staff were superb, particularly Chang and the snorkelling/dive teams.
The next place was a let down after laguna so booked ourselves back on another 3 day trip!
Will be back next year.
