My friend and I had a wonderful tour staying with Abdullah Ali! He was very friendly and welcomed us to stay with him and his family. We spent the day with his son Ali as our tour guide. Ali took us to so many beautiful sights by jeep (even allowing us to take turns driving through the sand) in Wadi Rum and explained to us the history behind the region. We had a fun time riding through the valley by camel! Ali took us to a beautiful spot for sunset (one that I'll never forget!) and then we went back to set up camp for the night, and Ali cooked one of the most delicious meals that I've ever had!! While you can stay inside, we set up camp outside and fell asleep to the open, beautiful sky. The camp has fantastic options whether you're staying for just 1 night or many!
These guys are fluent in English. Have the best camp with the view of the stars. And will provide you with the cleanest most authentic experience of wadi rum. If you're looking for great sights great authentic food and some delicious tea. This is the place to go. They provide everything you need from jeeps to camels to blankets and you're gauranteed a trip you will never forget.
We stayed in Wadi Rum for three days and are still under the impression. The place is as beautiful as in the photos that you can find all around the internet.
We decided for Wadi Rum Jordan Camp because it was clear that Abdullah Ali as the main organizer can flexibly make the stay exactly as we want. And we wanted the combination of jeep tour, camel tour and some hiking in mountains on border of Saudi Arabia. From the first moment everything was going on as it should be. I didn't like camel ride but it is my problem :) I was able later during the day to follow camels on foot and fully enjoy the nature taking photos of camels. Abdullah's son Ali was our jeep driver and guide, he was really pleasent and also a good cook. The last day we were having our mountaineering day, hiking on Jebel al Hash. The guide was Abdullah himself and it was pretty to see him showing us his engraved signiture from 1982 in the stones somewhere high in the mountains, far away from civillization... Later that day, Abdullah's wife made us a delicious lunch, children were playing around us - so we actually met the whole family :)
One of the highlights are stays overnight in the desert. We had two nights in two different camps, so we had two sunsets and two sunrises. Also the moonshine in the middle of the desert are stunnous. Great moments! Bedouins who were the guids during the day, were our hosts during the dinner and afterwards we enjoyed the time with them with tea and by the fire.
Looking forward to returning one day to Wad Rum and again meet these great people!
