“Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

We had a good experience staying with the tropical garden. We stayed on the second floor of the main house for a few days and then moved to a bungalow. The only thing that frustrated us were the bed bugs. Once at night I started scratching myself and I woke up to see that there were bloody spots on the blankets and the bugs too crawling quickly back into the darkness. This only happened in the bungalow. We told the reception when leaving the room (we left the same day, probably we did not feel the bed bugs before, because we were tired). But she said "Sorry" with such a face that she did not even mean that. That was a bit upsetting. I don't know if they solved the problem after all though...

Otherwise, I liked the place. There is not much to choose from in Koh Phi Phi. The location is further away, so you have the peace when you want to sleep and not only party. It is definately not TOO FAR, because nothing is far in Koh Phi Phi. There is a cute tropical pool in the backyard. The chef there makes wonderful tuna sandwiches with warm just baked bread. Highly recommended. This pool really adds a lot on a hot day. You can just soak there and do not need to go to a far away beach over the mountain, if you do not feel like doing that. If you want a good view of Koh Phi Phi, get a room on the second floor of the main building.

Room Tip: If you want a good view of Koh Phi Phi, get a room on the second floor of the main building. the sun...

Somewhat surprised at the lower than anticipated rating here. But to be fair, we didn't experience any bed bugs (only here 1 night).

This place, overall, is fine and a relatively good deal with the amenities provided. Some previous reviewers have noted the cracks in the door/walls, but that is what the provided mosquito net is for. Don't expect to get things you would get at a Westin when you're paying $20-$30 U.S. a night!!

The pool is an added bonus here....but the staff is not. I think they've about had it with foreign tourists and have resorted to treating everyone like dirt. We were quoted 800 baht per night for a room with 1 bed and the staff KNEW we had 3 people. However, in the morning, the rate mysteriously increased to 1100 baht because of the 3rd person. Be aware of two things on Koh Phi Phi Don: 1) if you have 3 or more people in your party, you will almost have to book separate rooms or anticipate paying a 300-500 baht surcharge for the extra person which is utter b.s. considering the fact that the room is never serviced and b) anticipate a raging stampede of foreign tourists that nearly ruin the entire experience of the island.

The location of this place isn't bad, about 10 minutes from the mess of bars/restaurants....but if you have the means, I strongly recommend you consider finding accomodation on a quieter part of the island and enjoy what the island should be like!

Hello. I spend there 3 nights weather was lovely is 10 min walk to the beach and 2 min to view point is worth visit view is breathtaking. Resort has a swimming pool and drink bar with cheap prices( cocktails 2£, beer1£). Bungalow was clean and is good value for money compare what you can get on this island. Resort serving also food worth to try is massaman curry very nice. There is also library so you can relax and read sth interesting. I woul reccomend this place if you looking for average accomodation.

Room Tip: Ask for bungalow A4 is nice and big.

Stayed there for a few days. It's not the cheapest place on PP but it's clean (but check the bed before go to sleep - just in case: )), really nice service (cheers Yupa!: ) and a great pool where you can avoid the high noon sun!
It's pretty simple (two beds, fan and clean bathroom) but you can't expect more for a 1000 bth per night.
Check the room availability on the net and go there and have a good time!
