The Sofitel Moorea la Ora Beach Resort was beautiful but the service was average at best. This started at the reception during check in and continued throughout our three days there, particularly in the restaurant we used a couple of times (Pure). Relative to cabins, I highly recommend 117, 119 and 120 - at the end of the pier with the best views of the outer reef. The water is beautiful and the fish plentiful, and the Sofitel does provide complementary gear. If you are heading to Bora Bora, I would recommend two days here and then move on. My wife and I did three in Moorea, four in Bora Bora; if we had it to do over we would do two and five. Moorea was nice, Bora Bora is great.

Room Tip: Bungalows 117, 119 and 120 - best view of the outer reef and lagoon.

Dear "OnTheRoadAgain..."

In a first end, please let me thank you for your time in writting and posting your review.
On the second end, please let me tell you how sorry we are to read that your stay with us was not up to your expectation.
The complete satisfaction of our guests in our only goal, and to read that the level of service that you experienced in our restaurant "Pure" was not up to part, is a real disappointment to us.
Would you be willing to share more details, and where the expectation short fell ?
Your feedback is the perfect opportunity for us to improve ourselves

Best Regards from Moorea

We had booked a Garden bungalow and it was worth all the money paid for. Their garden bungalow's are placed very close to beach and we could see the beach from our room. The rooms were great so was the lagoon and the staff was wonderful. I would definately recommend this hotel, though its a little far from all the attractions but, most of the activites and restaurants have a free pick up and drop service. The restaurants and food was great too.

Room Tip: Good if you are spending most of the time at the resort.

Bonjour "kkj3"

Thank you for your comments.
We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your bungalow and other amenities the resort and the island have to offer.

Snorkeling in the lagoon and discovering its aquatic life is always an amazing experience.

Hoping to see you soon in one of our property worldwide. You could actually pay a visit to our new sofitel address in Mumbai.

Best regards from Moorea

Stayed in an overwater bungalow for 4 nights, absolute heaven! Beautiful room, with excellant snorkelling on your doorstep. Dived with the hotel scuba diving team a couple times, would recommend the 0800 shark dive. Food a little pricey in hotel but you expect that before you arrive, a good tip would be to buy snacks and baguettes on Tahiti before you catch the ferry to Moorea, if you wish to save on costs. All in all the best hotel stay ive ever stayed at. Loved it!!

Dear "Skidz1980"

A quick note to thank you to have taken the time to post your comment.
We are glad tosee that you enjoyed your stay with us
Despite our best effort, It is true that the cost of food remains high in French Polynesia.

Hoping this will not keep you from coming back and visit us again in one of our property worldwide

We spent 3 nights at the Sofitel in January, 2012, in a standard bungalow. Despite having rain a few days, the facility was fabulous and the breakfast was superb. We were able to enjoy the beach and the grounds, which were wonderful. Staff was great and having a car with us enabled us to enjoy the spectacular island of Moorea !!!
Would definitely return, especially in dry season !!!

We stayed for 4 days last year but I have only got around to writing this review now. It was great. We had a overwater bungalow near the end of the pontoon and the views were beautiful. Being able to go and snorkel off your own private deck was lovely. The rooms are wonderfully equipped and the glass window in the floor is a nice little touch, as is the indoor/outdoor shower.
The food was very good if a little expensive, but I think this is Tahiti in general and not directed at the Sofitel.
Staff were always very helpful and could not do enough to help. The only thing was the wireless internet which was pointless as it didn't work, but then again when you are in paradise should I want to access my email???

Room Tip: Overwater bungalows are great, get one near the end of the pontoon

Bonjour "Looseal"

Hoping this email find you well.
We read that your stay at Sofitel Moorea was last year, so let us you know that we are very appreciative that you took the time even several months later to post this superb comment about your stay.

On another positive note, we did some major upgrade as far as our network since your stay.
So next time, if you do wish to check your email in paradise, you'll be able to.
