If you are in Luoyang this is probably its most interesting site. It takes some walking while at the area but it is worth it.

We had no idea of this wonderful site when planning our trip to Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors. So glad we took the train to Luoyang. It was amazing. Spent a couple of hours touring the caves. If going in the summer, you will need water, sunscreen and hat. don't miss this!

History, art, nature. Perfect combination for me. Took public bus from the city.Spent the whole day @ Longmen mountain, wondering around, discovering new caves, new details, observing other visitors. Don't miss the tea garden. It's a perfect place to have a nice tea ceremony and quiet rest from the busy crowds.

Just amazing! A must see, when you are in Luoyang. Anyway you will see it, when you visit the Longmen Grottoes (it is included the ticket price).

This was my second time going to the Longmen Grottos. They are absolutely amazing. You need to be fit to experience all the grottos, there is a lot of walking up steep rock. The stairs are well organised but its arduous. You would struggle to enjoy this site in a wheel chair. Take water in the summer as this site is very hot. There are few places a long the way to purchase water.
