We stayed one night during package tour to China. We found hotel good and comfortable. Breakfast spread was good and we being vegeterian had limited choice. Language was big barrier. But otherwise we enjoyed stay.

It's an older hotel, still clean and nice.
I bet when it's new, it must be very nice.

They have tour books on Luoyang which are good reads.
2 free bottled water in each room each day.
There is an evolving restaurant on the top floor where you get to see the panoramic view of Luoyang. This is also where the breakfast is located.
There are many selections for breakfast, buffet style from Asian to western, you name it, they have it. Plenty of food.
I have free Wifi in my room, probably it's part of the price I paid for when making reservations.

Centrally located hotel with very large rooms and quaint furnishings. Decent breakfast with porridge, noodles, hot veggie dishes and buns. Many shops and restaurants in the area
Polite front desk and service personnel

the good: it's nicely located in front of one of Luoyang's biggest parks and early in the morning and in the evening hundreds of people will gather there to happily dance, exercise or just stroll around. Some of the rooms are very nice with a nice view on the park, flatscreen TV's and a computer with Internet. There is a restaurant on the second floor, Macau Street Restaurant, where they serve very good Cantonese food. The bellboys are also very helpful.

the bad: this hotel is clearly past it's glory days, there is an out of tune piano in the lobby bar, there a broken escalators, empty peony rose painting shops, plastic palm trees in the dark and a revolving restaurant at the top which serves edible food. There is also a swimming pool hidden on the 5th floor, with ice-cold water and a plump sleeping guard.

Unfortunately there are not many choices (yet) in Luoyang.

This was our 2nd stop in the Chinese Checkers Tour operated by On the Go Tours. We stayed for a night. We had problems with our air-con as the room was really hot. The fridge did not work either. Breakfast was lacking which was on the 25th floor. The location was not so bad. Water was really cheap in the shops across the street. Hotel has free WiFi in the lobby.
