Absolutely loved our stay at the Zen Garden Resort the name is perfect its such a beautiful and relaxing place. The staff are incredible, so helpful and kind. We loved Yangshuo and although a short bike ride from restaurants we liked the quiet location. If you like boutique stylish hotels Zen Garden is for you!

I just left 30 minutes ago and already miss this place – I had been wanting to visit Yangshuo for years.

The staff was very friendly, the room was big and comfortable, and so was the bed... and that view... amazing.

The resort is somewhat out of town – it took me about 70 minutes to walk back to the city – which was exactly why I picked here. It was serene. I know someone wrote a comment about noise from the people flying around near the hotel but, while it was noticeable when the door was open, it certainly wasn’t a nuisance.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely be back soon.

Zen garden resort provided an amazing stay for us in Yangshuo. So much of your trip itinerary can be arranged through hotel reception. We arrived by plane into Guilin and were able to organize a private driver to meet us there and take us to the resort which was about an hours drive for just 350 rmb. We arranged this through the resort and it was very easy, there are staff at reception that speak English which is very accommodating as Yangshuo is so rural. The staff were truly amazing as we arrived in Yangshuo without much of a itinerary, however after speaking to the staff, we were able to truly enjoy Yangshuo for the amazing culture and beauty it has to offer. The staff let us borrow bikes from the hotel which we were free and we were able to go ourselves down the bike path to the Yulang river, they also provided rain ponchos as it was raining. We were worried about transport into the town of Yangshuo and asked reception how we could hire a taxi and how much it would cost, the staff member then said he would drive us there and pick us up for free! It was amazing and more than we could hope for as we’ve heard the local taxis will rip you off, it made for a very relaxing trip to visit the famous “west street”. The drive into town was only about 15 minutes. We were also able to book a tour guide in for 2 days on short notice through the hotel which proved to be the highlight of our trip to Yangshuo. The rooms are extremely spacious, clean, with a large bath and shower, and stunning views. We stayed in the winter season and the heating was ample, especially with the bath there, that helps you warm up even more. The breakfast options while we were there were either western or Chinese, which can get a bit boring after 4 days but I didn’t really mind, they did change certain items on your plate everyday. I found the Chinese breakfast to be quite good and really filling, it included congee, corn, boiled peanuts, a piece of bread or bun, water chestnut, boiled egg, pickled veggies, fruit and a yam. The western breakfast had eggs, either fried or omelette (was given on separate days you can’t choose), two pieces of toast, a sausage, and fruit. The restaurant at the hotel also does lunch and dinner. We had dinner there 1 of the nights and it was really tasty. They had a sign that read you needed to reserve an hour before, however when we showed up without one they accommodated us anyway. On our last night the resort was celebrating its 1 year anniversary of opening and invited us to a celebration bbq, this was so kind and very thoughtful of the staff. Overall what truly makes this resort special is the staff, spacious rooms and views and I’d highly recommend it!

We loved staying here...we in fact got engaged whilst staying! The rooms are beautiful, the staff incredibly kind and helpful and the breakfasts delicious. Incredible views, wonderful atmosphere and great location just out of the way of the rush of Yangshuo and in near reach of lots of the lovely sights. The decor is charming and warm yet modern, sleek, spotless and super comfortable (wonderful beds). Choose a view over the hill - you will get wonderful sunsets and see hot air balloons rising and falling from your room. Beautiful! And lovely rocking chairs on the balcony.Stay here!!

Room Tip: Choose a view over the hill - wonderful sunsets and hot air balloons.

From 3-5 January 2018 we stayed with our daughter in the Zen Garden resort in Yangshuo.and it was fantastic! The resort is secluded, but is beautifully situated, very rustrig, in a community outside of Yangshuo. The rural environment was very attractive to us. The staff are so kind to pick you up and bring you to the center of Yangshuo. The resort is stylish and very comfortable and fully equipped. We had two rooms, both of which have a beautiful view, but this applies to all rooms. Also the food ( breakfast and dinner) were very tasty. On the bike or scooter there are nice trips to make in the area or further away.De employees are particularly friendly and helpful, for us certainly a reason to go back. The Zen Garden resort is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Yangshuo, a must!
