Explore the spacious merchant's house; nest comfortably in the nicely restored rooms; enjoy the smiling and fun staff, even if you cannot communicate in Mandarin, nor they in English. A perfect country home to return to after hiking Huangshan Mountain. Plus owners Cathy (who speaks perfect English) and More know a thing or two about craft beer making. Visit Dog Cafe next door and try what's on draft. And don't miss the parade of ducks mornings and evenings. The whole Pig's Inn experience was a delight!

The heritage building is a restored merchant's home. It is beautifully restored and incorporates modern comforts such as modern bathrooms, air con and wifi. We had a very comfortable bedroom and sitting room with lovely furnishings. There are beautiful sitting areas and courtyard. The ladies running the Inn are delightful, though not English speaking, and provide great meals. Language posed no problems for us as the ladies were so eager to help. There are free bicycles for touring the area - see the village, pagoda, river, rice fields and Ming era bridge. It is a good base for visiting Xidi and Hongcun and other Anhui sights. A perfect break from very large Chinese cities, hordes of tourists and traffic.

Very good home cooked food, fresh and inexpensive. Very nice staff but only speaking Mandarin. I love the preserved Chinese ancient house setting with a library and a few common halls. Bicyles are provided to stroll around the small town. Old but adequate.

This hotel is a traditional heritage building. It is a boutique hotel and has been extensively renovated by the owners. The fitout is very good and the experience of staying in a traditional Chinese home, which is what the building was originally, is a large part of the charm and character of this hotel.

Excellent bathroom facilities with a walk in shower. High quality toiletries are supplied. The bathroom has a nightlight, which is a thoughtful touch when you are in unfamiliar rooms.

Reasonable wifi connection in the room.

Breakfast is good. A range of Chinese options are available.

Sleep quality is excellent. The bed was firm but quite comfortable and the room was very quiet.

Staff were very friendly and hospitable.

We stayed at Pig's Heaven Inn Bishan for two nights as part of a tour with Wild China. The hotel has only 7 rooms and is in a 300 year old building with the public areas open to the sky in the style of the local villages. The bedrooms are modernized and comfortable, though small. The food for breakfast and one dinner was excellent. The village of Bishan was interesting. Our guide took us on a walk and we met an older man who was the local maker of sweet potato noodles. The local farmer would provide the sweet potatoes and he would make the noodles including hand cutting at the finish. We got a nice description of the process. The staff was very friendly, but with little English.
