We were so pleased to have this little gem, it's hidden away, not close to anything or easy to get to, but once there is wonderful. Beautiful plants, clean and lovely/spacious rooms, gorgeous grounds, a yummy breakfast, nice day hike and night hike to observe the skies, friendly staff....it was a great getaway......

What a disappointment. Such rave reviews. So much lost in translation. Primitive accommodation, absolutely dire food and an impatient and culturally insensitive host (delightful hostess). Plus, once you're there, you're stuck. If the host likes you I guess you might have a good time but all in all it's a total rip off. Don't buy into any of the local tours, they are 75% cheaper and perfectly easy to arrange yourself. This was such a big treat for us and such a let down.

I spent nine days at the Hacienda in April 2016. I could not have asked for a better experience. The place is staffed with great people, the meals were always excellent, and the surroundings just beautiful.

We booked three nights here direct with the hacienda months ahead and informed them of the activities we would like. Everything we requested was provided and we can highly recommend the 4WD tour with a picnic lunch, observatory tour and horse riding (I am in my 60s and had not been on a horse in years but I felt completely safe and well looked after on a half day trek). Also borrowed the notes for one of their self guided walks.
Our room and the food were good but almost incidental to our enjoyment. The easy to access activities were the best part.
The staff are great (and multi-lingual, put us Brits to shame!) and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We thought the whole experience was excellent value.
We drove ourselves (4WD not needed) to get there from Santiago and enjoyed interesting conversations with some of our fellow guests.
Although the wifi coverage didn't reach our room it was good in the public areas.

Room Tip: We paid the extra for the suite which was at the end of the building, particularly quiet and with a view across the valley.

This is a very special place for those who want to escape the daily business of life and merge with the nature while still having a very comfortable and cosy stay. This place has a soul and offers great personel, beautiful nature, great starry sky, horse riding in the mountains, star watching and taste meals. Very cosy rooms in Hazienda style and romantic road towards the place. What else would you like? :)
