We stayed here for 5 nights in June for the World Cup. The Pousada is located in the heart of the Ponta Negra beach area of the city, right on the seafront. A taxi from the airport should cost around R$90 maximum and takes around 30 minutes. The area is served by a number of buses which are mega cheap (R$2.50) for a journey to the local shopping malls etc. We paid for a room with partial sea view which was clean and came equipped with a fridge and mini bar stocked with alcoholic and soft drinks and snacks. There was also a flat screen TV complete with satellite channels and the all important air conditioning which came in very handy to cope with the heat and humidity! Our room had a small balcony to sit out and enjoy the beautiful sea views. Our room was cleaned every day and supplied with clean towels. Breakfast was included and was delicious: a great selection of pastries, cakes, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, cereal! The works! The staff were all really helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A couple of staff did speak a bit of very good English which was a big help, but I would advise anyone to learn basic Portuguese as it will get you a long way! The Ponta Negra is a lively place packed with a variety of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes and budgets from cheap 'all you can eat' style buffets to higher end steakhouses! And along the beachfront are the brilliant Caipirinha carts serving a variety of delicious drinks! The beach itself is one of the most stunning and beautiful I've seen. Miles and miles of white sand. The only downside was the weather - it rained heavily the first 2 days with it being their 'winter' despite 30 degree temperatures! We paid over the odds for our room because it was the World Cup but otherwise I would say it gave good value for money. Overall I would recommend the hotel for a beach focused holiday and lively nightlife!

Room Tip: I would suggest paying the extra money for a full or partial sea view. I think it's worth it!

Pousada Azzurra is located on Ponta Negra beach from some steps from the sea.
Rooms are mostly good, enough spacious and clean, air conditioned, with minibar, TV, safetybox. Some rooms with a view of the sea.
There is small swimming pool .
Normal usual breakfast is served in an open air veranda with a panoramic view of Morro do Careca.
This place seems me normal for staying, but nothing specials and unusual. Every thing are ordinary there.
