excellent location, good size rooms and service oriented staff. Hopefully new management will update aging furniture, and upgrade breakfast to include healthier options. Phone charges are a rip off though.

Walking distance to the beach and to the shopping area. We booked 2 rooms for 8 days. They were wide and clean but the furniture little old. They gave us a free upgrade to a suite for one of them. Too bad the gym was closed for renovation.

Positives: Great location, nice hotel staff, good sized room (should be for £100 per night)
Negatives: Breakfast boring, the same every day, 'swimming pool' is not a swimming pool, is so small only a small dog could swim. Fitness Centre - filthy, broken, rusty equipment. Even the 'Under Maintenance' poster on the spa door looked like it needed fixing. Unhappy that I paid for a swimming pool you can't actually swim in and a Fitness centre that was rusty, not working and filthy

The two strong points of this hotel are the location close to the beach and the room size. Most rooms are rather large (with a seating area, fridge and a large desk) and have a very comfortable bathroom. The shower fits two people. Breakfast is generous compared to a typical European continental breakfast and includes hot food. City views (no beach views).

I found the price of the hotel not competitive however. There are Copacabana hotels with stunning views and a roof top swimming pool that are 25% cheaper than the Promenade Visconti. So the hotel is relatively pricey for what it is.

Also, the jacuzzi and sauna area could do with a renovation. I visited it but chose not to stay.

Brazil was the last of the 4 South American countries we visited. We came across this hotel online and was pleasantly surprised. First, I would like to complement the front desk staff on an amazing job and for being so very helpful. In particular, Mauricio, Rodrigo and Antonio. Thank you. Hotel has all the basic amenities and is one block away from the beach. The only drawback was the wifi but that didn't stop us from having fun. It was a great choice for a hotel in Rio.
